Verity may be a highly-trained botanist, but she doesn't hang out in beautiful, well-manicured gardens full of blooming flowers, or in old-growth forests lined with majestic trees.

No, Verity is happiest stomping around in the mud, investigating the slimiest of ponds and smelliest of bogs. Pond slime is, in fact, her specialty; she can tell just by looking at a sample of slime how healthy a pond is -- not to mention what chemical and magical pollutants have made their way in.

And Verity's expertise is more in demand than you'd think: "Only you can prevent Wartoads from breeding in your backyard!" she likes to tell people. Or, in other terms, healthy ponds means a healthy home for wildlife, beastclans, and dragons alike, and Verity's one of the best dragons to ask about how to keep them that way.
