Biography

Nightmare Obsidian

Lore Notes:
Void's Grasp Apparel is the result of her giving up her sight for a new knowledge and an ability. The ability to feed off of darkness and pain to live forever. She sees in pain, not in sight. Hooded Dodo is her familiar, gained from the void's ritual too bring her the power to feed off of such things. It is there to find her victims who are the richest in fear and the weakest in will for her to break and bend to drain of their emotional strength and to eat away at their minds. Those with the most pain tolerance are useless to her. She prefers fresh meat...

Subspecies: Void Callers
Forum Area: Dragon Share
dragon?did=65684813&skin=0&apparel=37884,20850,1792,768,667,8955,11507,32703,332,11672,15271,32705,14107&xt=dressing.png

The mother of this subspecies was a pearl catcher who's pearl no longer interests her. She had found a new source of identity, a new entity to fall upon, a new way to store memories into solidity. She had found am entity known in draconic by the name of Void, and this entity was much like the shade, but very much different.
While the shade is an ever eating mass of magic, the Void is much different. Instead of destroying what is beautiful it is here to suck away all that makes a dragon a dragon. Not their magic. It is the seeker of sanity and youth, and it consumes it until a dragon is no longer really there. After losing their minds, they become mere puppets of the void.
Irae, the mother of the Void Callers, was the first to find the Void and actually speak to the entity. An entity that hides in plain sight, she sensed it from the shadows behind her shelves in her old laboratory. Curious as she was about how life came and went, she talked to the entity through a series of purple runes, and in time, she established a pact with the entity. In exchange for her personality, identity, and the eyes within her skull, she was given a new one of everything, replacing her pearl and giving her a new visionary ability; pain Seeking.

A Void Caller is blind, but they are able to sense suffering, much like how migraines can make you hear in color. Sense of smell and hearing can easily pinpoint when someone is suffering, but their eyes act a lot like heat sensors, tracking every twinge or ***** of pain, telling them where those who suffer the most are. Using the combined ability and senses they track where everyone is at a time, and those with the least pain are their targets.
Void Callers are immortal, but only as long as they prey on the young and weak. Those with little pain tolerance are their targets above all else, and so young adults and teens are normally the age range they strive for, although not all will allow themselves to take advantage of such young ages due to their past morals poking though the darkness. Not everybody can stomach the call of the Void. In order to feed off of others' pain, they must be close to those who suffer the most. The best way to feed is to do it yourself, and that's where their hidden chambers and tools come into play.

Void Callers are not widely known, although whispers on the street have been hints pointing towards those that live amongst them. Void Callers are overly secretive about their new ways of life, for obvious reasons. Torturing others to feed their immortality is not a good rep to have. Void Callers are great with poker faces, and are quite tricky in both mind and method, clever and sneaky and oh so devious, like the void, that was created when it was separated from the light and took in a fraction of the Shade. So, like its mothering entity, these callers keep to themselves.

There are ways to be born a Void Caller, but these offspring are ALWAYS marked by the Void's Grasp or come with shadow like abilities since birth. Those who joined the void as pact members are marked by this painful touch after making an unbreakable oath with the Void to do as it pleases in return for inmortality. Those born into the Void are either completely mind controlled by the Void or able to break free of its grasp once in a while to return to the real world, but not for long.
Offspring are more mindless husk if bred with two Void Callers.
If bred with only one Void Caller, they have the ability to be their own dragon, but are still possible vessels for the Void. The Void comes and goes as it pleases with the halfling offsprings, like it does with all its members (except the pureblood offspring. They cannot seem to let go of the Void because they are a PART of the Void. Killing one of these will chip off a fraction of the immortality the Void shares with all its children. So it is not always encouraged to mate with another of your kind here.)

Void Callers also have a known enemy. They are called Light Callers. These callers are very few and far between, not in every place or spread out enough to catch all that is lost to the void. They are still building their regiments to face this new threat of scar tissue and pain, and will soon be released into the world.

Requirements:

They must have Void's Grasp Apparel. If you can't get your hands on some, that is alright. It was a holiday item, which means it most likely won't come back until much later on. I will add on more accessible shadow items to make up for this.
Void's Grasp
(Costed 65 shimmering pinecones, remember for bank)

They must have a past of being someone else. By this I mean they have transformed into something new and similar to the Void in order to become one with the Void.

They must take part in the torrent of others

They must have found or been born into the Void somehow

They must be registered in the editable spreadsheet to be registered.

Preferred Flights:
Shadow, Arcane, Plague, Ice

Shadow - The main flight - these are considered the best and most common members of the Void, for they understand the ideals of trickery and deception. They are the colors the Void provides within its dark depths, and the Void's personal favorite.

Arcane - The second most common flight - The arcane are curious enough to find the Void and to join it in their search for knowledge. After all, the curiosity killed the cat. The Void grants them the power to manipulate bits and pieces of the Void like they were shadow benders, simply because they are so connected to magic. The Void only allows the best of the best to use its light consuming particles because it believes only those of shadow truly understand what it means to be hidden in the darkness, and it doesn't want to attract the attention of the Shade.

Plague - third most common flight - The Void is always happy to bring in a plague member, simply because they are so familiar with death and pain already that they are the ones most likely to survive. Sometimes it will bring two members together with at least one plague so that those who it believes are dying will learn the best ways to feed from its plague pact members. it doesn't mind learning a trick or two!

Ice - the fourth most common flight - Ice members are the most rare of them all, since their eye coloring deceives even the member of the Void's growing army

Preferred Breeds:
Pearlcatchers, Faes, Imperials, Nocturnes, Veilspun,

Preferred Familiars:
Hooded Dodo

Outlawed Flights:
Light, Fire

Light - Light is the exact opposite of shadow, and its greatest enemy. The Void itself can destroy any light flight it finds on its own, much like a blackhole, but its pact members cannot do so as easily as the light sucking entity itself. Light flights are most likely Light Callers, and meant to destroy its pact members and its offspring. They are the Void's greatest enemies.

Fire - Too similar too light, the Void hates anything to do with them. If the Void were even to think about bringing in any, they would only bring in those who were the most wronged and the most powerful, and easily manipulated enough for the Void to be sure they are loyal, but this has never happened in written history. After the first incident, the Void knew never to trust a Fire flight again.

Outlawed Familiar and Apparel:
Anything to do with fire or light elements
