6th Generation Temporal Rifter

Allison -> Kali -> Shiva -> Kyole -> Miro -> Noah -> Kubilay

Kubilay had always known his father to be a little strange, to be a little... off. What Kubilay had never figured out was why this was so. All he knew was that his father, Noah, would pace around their little hideouts muttering to himself, saying random phrases like “Yes Mother” and “Of course I’ll bring him back to us. I just need a little more... time, to find him!” Kubilay could distinctly recall the way his father’s voice would crack in desperation, hoping and praying out loud for his mother not to leave him. Whether his father was a lunatic or not was beyond Kubilay’s comprehension. But Kubilay would follow him, regardless of what his case was, because Noah was his dad... and Kubilay hated to see his father suffer like that. His only other question in life was, why did father behave like this, and if this mother was even real.... did she truly love him? Other than answering these questions, Kubilay felt like he had little other purpose in life. His father’s condition was simultaneously intriguing and horrifically haunting to the young lad.

His father often told him that he, as his father, was a weapon that mother called to war. All Kubilay would get out of him other than this were the words mother and Jenova. Someone to be respected, someone worthy of admiration and fear and somebody who only wanted their family together again. It made Kubilay question the type of past his father had had. It made Kubilay question a lot of things. Like their origins, what oh what were their origins? He meant Jenova’s of course, but, what about him and his father? Kubilay could often catch his father questioning whether they were made or whether they were born. What did his father mean by made instead of born? What Kubilay hadn’t expected was to have the privilege to find out. Oh, and what a privilege it was.

In a desperate attempt to increase their chances of finding mother’s missing son, Noah had transformed into something like his great grandfather. What Noah saw in his son Kubilay wasn’t really a son, but more of a weapon and a comrade to their familial unit. Someone who could help him to track down Jenova’s missing son. Kubilay knew this, he understood that he was nothing more than a tool to his father, but that never stopped him from going along with what his father wanted. This was what he was made for after all. He was created, to help his father hunt down and bring home the missing son. What Kubilay wasn’t ready for, was the pain of undergoing a cellular transformation which changed him on a genetic level. As his father fussed over the little details to make sure things went over well, Kubilay was left to wither and writhe in one of their many makeshift test tubes.

The genetic enhancements were only the first part of Noah’s little experiment, only the first step for Kubilay to become more than what he was now. After writhing about in the test tube from pain, drowned in the horrific ringing which pierced his ears and split his brain cells in agony. Drowned in the sensitivity which flooded his eyes like a thousand burning solar systems and overwhelmed his olfactory senses with scents he never knew were real. Kubilay was finally freed from the container. But that wasn’t the end, for Kubilay to fully undergo the transformation he had to prove himself through strength and zeal, stamina and commitment, ability and ferociousness. Kubilay had to prove himself by lifting crushing weights and running until his legs burned like the searing hot coals of volcanic lava.

After the enhancements Kubilay was taught to control his powers and was put through many a test until his training had been completed. Now, Kubilay was more than mentally prepared to fulfill his role, he was physically prepared as well. With the genetic enhancements and the physical training Kubilay finally gained the privilege of learning more about Jenova, all in the name of finding her missing child and bringing him home.

What an honor it was to the young lad, finally getting to meet Jenova in the literal flesh. Not her body of course, that was still locked up under enemy control. But a small bundle of cells which his father had saved from their foe’s laboratory was enough. Kubilay was astounded to see his father’s obsession and his own life’s work in front of him. He meant no disrespect, but were these cells truly part of what his father called mother time and time again? Regardless of what father would have answered, Kubilay would find out soon enough.

As the cells were injected into him he began to hear her call, to feel the power of her influence and the strength of her willpower which easily rivaled his own. In the face of her power and of the sudden understanding he quickly bowed down to her from inside the confines of his own mind. His father’s words finally connecting from inside his memory as all the answers to his questions were laid bare before him, as all his inquiries were finally answered. His father’s past, the origin of Jenova, his very purpose in the world. Then the mental connections began to form which allowed him to hear her, to feel her influence, to finally understand that his father wasn’t as mad as he once believed. And then, her beautiful words which welcomed him home and encouraged him to bring back the long-lost son. His purpose held more than this one simple mission of course, for Jenova called him to her. Kubilay's meaning had finally become clear to him. Bring back the missing son, rescue their mother and destroy The Organization.
