 Mirage Pierce -> Ex-Herd dragon! Having hatched her first nest, Mirage Pierce is no longer capable of continuing the lineage. Normally I would've just exalted her after she bred, but have you ever had a dragon you just couldn't exalt for the sole fact that they looked so good in certain apparel? -> Naming theme: these members of the Herd lineage inherit their last name from the first name of their Herd parent. This tradition began with their ancestor Samuel Joyliana, who was an outlier for inheriting his last name from his grandmother, Joyliana Nebulae.

Biography:
Mirage Pierce is a Ridgeback born of the expansive Herd lineage, who came into the world with the goal of raising a clutch of eggs to continue her bloodline already ingrained deeply in her mind. However, something that very few Herd dragons ever seem to consider before that fated first nest is -- what happens to them after they've hatched their first children and continued their lineage?
For many Herdlings, what follows is a complete existential crisis. Imagine being born with your life's goal already set in stone for you, and achieving that goal as a young adult. What in the world do you do with the rest of your life? Many of them heed the call of whichever of the elemental deities reaches them first, joining the Exalted in an attempt to find any sort of higher purpose. Some of them commit themselves to their family completely, raising new clutches of hatchlings, while those of their first nest now shoulder the responsibility of continuing the Herd lineage further.
And others yet seek out... well, stranger purposes for sure, finding little niches for themselves in any hobby that manages to capture their interest for more than a few days. They'll throw themselves into any activity with great gusto, desperate to find a new passion, a renewed meaning. And Mirage, after she laid her first nest of three, was no different. Her life goal had been accomplished and she felt absolutely stranded. With nothing to fill that void, she engrossed herself completely in stocking and sorting her clan's apparel collection, of all things!
But after a while, Mirage found that something about planning and arranging outfits for dragons... really tickled her fancy. She loved fashion! She loved going around their temple home wearing her favourite outfit, a collection of orange and red jester's clothes that suited her crimson scales perfectly, and receiving compliments from her clan mates. She loved setting up similar outfits for the other dragons of their lair, too! The Ridgeback was confident that she had found a new meaning, a new purpose for herself.
But after a while, working with the same apparel day after day started to get just a little bit boring. Sometimes Mirage would get lucky and a clanmate would throw her some new clothes to work with, but most of the time it was her trying to figure out what different combinations she could make with the same stuff. And it just wasn't engaging her the same way it used to! So Mirage made a rash decision...
...the Ridgeback decided to become a traveller, and bring her skills in combining the perfect outfits to new clans, with all sorts of new clothes to provide her with! The possibilities for her were endless out there, after all. Maybe she would even collect some new apparel to try out on herself! And so, Mirage left her home clan with a fond farewell, and took off for a new adventure.

Travel Log:
SmokyDuck: In the Laospí Clan, MiragePierce found ripe hunting grounds for dragons who sorely needed some fashion advice. She made fast friends with the artist Didi and her daughter Sierrie, and the trio spent lots of time bothering Kytha, the tailor, with all their ideas. The ridgeback was an absolute star before festivals, rituals, and any other event worth looking a little nicer for. The sheer volume was quite a challenge, but MiragePierce's burgeoning enthusiasm weathered her first big wave of clientele splendidly. By the time she left, MiragePierce had given every single dragon there at least a couple of outfit ideas-- even the ones who didn't ask for them!
