"He is not fit for his position."

GREETINGS A small green coatl walks up to you, his many pupils dilating. He's carrying an unidentified mouse in one hand and a fish in the other, seemingly heading to Caeneus. "Ooo- who are they? Oh that's cool, we never have those! Do you want some? No? Well alright, I'll see if my mentor wants it." INFO This leaf green Coatl is the newest and youngest member of Hurricane Clan. He was brought here by his mentor Caeneus. He claims he found his hatched egg under a bush and pulled him out and took Pine to the safety of Hurricane Clan. Euphorbia wasn't very happy with another dragon to feed but Caeneus argued another member would just make the clan stronger and pay off in the long run. Euphorbia reluctantly let him stay. Pine is quite proud his mentor is the clan Deputy, the senior Members say that's quite rare. He follows Caeneus around whenever he can, and when he isn't (Usually when Caeneus goes out of camp alone) he's usually playing with the other Apprentice, Angler. He clearly thinks he's the whole package. He's determined to make himself known and shine out from the crowd. And frankly, he does that quite well. He obviously has his eyes on some type of higher rank. He loves that it seems Caeneus is only nice to him, it seems to fuel his confidence. Most members seem to pity him so he gets babied by his clan most of the time. The only 2 members who seem weird to him are Euphorbia and Pomegranate. He understands why Euphorbia wouldn't be fond of him but he's always been puzzled why the sweet Medic would treat him differently. That doesn't bother him much though, he still knows he'll be the best dragon in the clan one day. SCENE Pine stared at his father, Shift, as he walked out of Hurricane Clan camp. Pine's hexagon pupils turned to slits. He looked back at his other father's den and saw Pomegranate entering Caeneus' den with some items in her hands. My chance- This is my chance. He was only just made a full Hunter a month ago. He was ready though. He was one of the best Hunters in his clan, outstanding at hunting and in battle. He walked into Caeneus' cave and met eyes with Pomegranate. "May I speak to him? Alone?" "Oh uh- of course." She nodded and stepped outside the den, leaving behind herbs and other remedies for his father. Caeneus wheezed and coughed up blood. "Hello, is there something you need?" He wiped away the blood on his lips and smiled weakly at his son. "You- you're a traitor." Pine stood over his father, his lip curling back that revealed his sharp teeth. "What- what do you mean?" Caeneus rasped and shrunk back in his cloth bedding on the floor. "You broke the rules. You betrayed our clan to be with Shift." He snarled. "It's not the rules- I changed the rules!" Caeneus paused, then added, "For us." "You wouldn't have had to change the rules if you didn't break them in the first place!" Pine stepped closer to Caeneus, he saw the true fear in Caeneus's eyes for the first time. "I cannot control who I love, Pine. I broke the rules then but now those rules are no more. I did this for us, I promised you and Shift we could all be happy one day." He looked at Pine pleadingly, hoping he would understand. "I grew up without parents, I had no one. You were just someone who 'saved' me," Pine's tail flicked angrily, "You never saved me, you nearly killed me as a hatchling! You killed my siblings! They suffered, trapped within their eggs, freezing to death because you. I thought I was an orphan. I thought there was no one for me." "You had me though, not in the way I would have liked but I was there- I always was." Caeneus whispered softly. "You do not deserve to be leader. You twisted the rules for your own gain- because you broke them. Because you're a traitor. Traitors do not deserve this high of a status-" Pine looked down at his claws, his arms shaking, "I would be much more fit of this title. I deserve this- after what you and Shift put me through. I am meant for greatness. I'm the demi god here. Not you!" He lunged Caeneus, ripping his claws through his neck and releasing the crimson liquid from him. "Gods rule this world, not puny mortal traitors." Pine whispered to himself and Caeneus as his jaws gaped, blood running down his mouth and staining his teeth. Caeneus' neck was a waterfall of crimson. A puddle of blood soaked into both of their fur and feathers. Soon Caeneus went limp, his head hitting the stone floor and his eyes glazed over with milky white. I rule this world. It is mine. It was mine from birth. It is a gift I deserve from my cruel treating and betrayal. Gods rule this world, not traitors. I am one of those gods. I am Pine, the only surviving son and child of the god of discord and trickery, Shift. I will be king!... |
