PLACES OF INTEREST
MISTHEARTH The royal capital of Astramor, situated on the western coast. Where the river reaches the sea, a complex series of canals and dikes have been constructed. Overlooked by Castle Columbine, its narrow cobbled roads and numerous docks and jetties serve as a reminder that Misthearth was, first and foremost, a fishing village. |
THE WEIRWOODS Not all of the trees Astramor are part of the Weirwoods, but it comprises of the deepest, most unknown portions of the forests. Those who venture past the markers at its borders do so at their own risk. It's well known, of course, that the woods is full of monsters. |
IDESREIGN An idyllic city at the edge of a barren mountain range, the home of the Ides is protected by its magic, creating something of a greenhouse effect on the area. The city benefits from much of this, but its concentrated force is seen in the citadel itself, where lush gardens overflow its slowly dilapidating walls. |
SANCTUARY A settlement on the edge of the Weirwoods known for its devotion to the God of Clan. Their tight-knit community is difficult to enter, and even harder to leave, making them impenetrable to the monsters of the woods, but also to kingdom politics. |
OASIS On the rim of the northern sea, this sparsely populated settlement is known for being nearly impossible to travel to, bordered on nearly all sides by the deep woods. Nevertheless, they eke out a happy living, grazing their sheep on the grasses of the cliffs. |
THE COLD WASTE Where the mountains that shelter the kingdom end, vast stretches of tundra in permanent winter begin, marked by several massive dragon skeletons. Crossing the Cold Waste is possible, for caravan journeys to Sornieth and beyond, but inadvisable for the faint of heart. |
OUTSIDE THE KINGDOM
ULDEGARD HOLD This former military fort was once a part of Astramor, long before the death of the Gods. Abandoned and reclaimed several times over the centuries, it's now home to a group claiming to have seen the 'second coming' of the Icewarden... Among other less savory rumors. |
AUGHT EIGHT A crumbling skyscraper that appears in lonesome places, difficult to enter, and harder to leave... unless the city itself wills it. Those that pass through remark on the strange nature of it, the effect it has on its surroundings, and the apparent forgotten beastclan tribe that dwells within. |
