Thalia 		ran away from home at a young age in the hopes of escaping a familial curse. they eventually stumbled into wayfarer territory and were taken under lyrsus' wing until they were ready to stand back on their own feet. bonded with thalia, lyrsus and tergis' adoptive child, as well as the veilspun hiding in the gardens.

after leaving the wayfarer lair as a young adult, candlelight was met by a peculiar maren with an even more peculiar request - to care for a small, strange fae hatchling that the maren was unable to provide proper care for. it took much convincing, but eventually they agreed and took little leander under their wing. they would later dicover for themself that the hatchling was, in fact, a ghost, lost out of its proper time and place. eventually, they adapted to their charge's strange and upsetting circumstances, and now the two are nearly inseparable. they still visit the maren who initially cared for leander, as well as the seal pod the maren travels with.

candlelight has not visited or happened across any of their family for a long while, and does their best not to think of them. in the back of their mind, they still fear the vague threat of the familial curse, but they have other things to worry about, now. in truth, they have nothing to fear, even if they don't know it, as the curse has already manifested in one of their younger siblings.
