Professor of magic Keshet's younger brother, Yekom was born to the angelic Dark Sclera sect (as his professor Nelson describes in his journal). An absolutely phenomenal magician, Yekom is a gifted illusionist and is extremely talented at offensive magic, especially curses, hexes, and jinxes. He is easily the youngest member of Jǫtunheimr Hall but is certainly one of the most gifted.

- Biography
Born to the angelic sect of Dark Sclera dragons, Yekom was brought to Home by his older brother Keshet when he was still a hatchling, meaning he never had a chance to become accustomed to Dark Sclera society. Like Keshet, he was born in Shadow. Some Dark Sclera dragons have eyes that do not match their elemental alignment, likely a reflection of the loose connection these dragons have to elemental alignments in general, and Yekom is one of these. His eyes are Plague, but his magic is Shadow. A kind and funny dragon by nature, he quickly proved his ability to get along well with pretty much everyone. Initial magical screenings showed him to be an absolute phenomenon in terms of raw talent, and though he sometimes slacks on practice, he was still quickly sorted into Jǫtunheimr Hall, where he fits in perfectly. Although he's not one to brag, Yekom enjoys the prestige of being a member of Jǫtunheimr Hall, and he tries to display the work ethic necessary to keep his spot. He loves working with Home's professors of non-elemental magic and other students who share his talents, and has ambitions of becoming a cursebreaker like his brother-in-law Zuriel one day.

- Life at Home
When he's not in class, Yekom can often be found spending time with his friends in Jǫtunheimr Hall, especially his best friend Toiba, who often drags him into volunteering as a tutor for younger residents. He spends a lot of time with his older brother Keshet, but rarely takes his classes (he only admits to himself that he's afraid of disappointing his brother if he performs poorly in class). On the other hand, he adores brother-in-law Zuriel's classes, and often begs Zuriel to take him along on jobs (Zuriel always refuses, saying that Keshet would never let him hear the end of it if he agreed). Not the most driven dragon around, Yekom relies on Jǫtunheimr Hall's culture of collective accountability to keep him in line. He tries to make friends with all of his Hallmates so they can keep him accountable for his work and practicing. Fortunately, this is an easy task, as Yekom is naturally friendly and likable.

- Relationships
Yekom is very close with his family at home. He knows that most of his friends don't have the luxury of a birth family, and he knows better than to take it for granted. He knows that he can always go to his big brother Kes, Kes' husband Zuriel, or Zuriel's brother Betzalel for a listening ear or a word of advice. They say they'll always be proud of him no matter what, but Yekom knows their expectations for him are high, and he often worries about falling short. He and Kes have very different personalities, with Yekom being much more easygoing and laid-back, but they still get along well. Yekom is close with his hallmates, and enjoys hanging out with friends, often preferring to study or practice with a friend rather than on his own. He is particularly close with the others closest to his age, especially Toiba. He often teases Toiba for being a goody-two-shoes, but he knows that Toiba helps keep him on track.

- Personality
Friendly, funny, and even-tempered, it is not easy to find Yekom upset or even in a bad mood. He enjoys having fun and spending time with the dragons closest to him, and unlike his older brother, he consciously avoids serious topics of discussion. He loves puns and jokes, and always has a few particularly bad ones on hand for stressful situations (Zuriel is always his favourite on his hatchdays because he's the only one who likes his jokes enough to buy him new jokebooks). Yekom adores sweet foods, and can be counted to add chocolate or sugar to practically everything he eats. Extremely non-confrontational by nature, Yekom hates arguments and hates to see the dragons close to him upset. He will always vacate the premises quickly if he senses an argument brewing. Yekom's light-hearted nature means dragons who don't know him well often find him to be immature or unable to take things seriously. A perfectionist to his core, he hates the thought of disappointing anyone or not living up to his potential. His fear of failure means he sometimes comes across as lazy or uninterested. Yekom knows he is a gifted young dragon, and he truly believes that it is up to him to help make the world a better place - although he sometimes admits he has to start by helping out around Home first.
