Biography
LEA Quiet and watchful Guardian of the Crossroads Beware what hides behind the trees... |
template by Devonix x | x | x | x | x | x |
By the outskirts of Tempest City, there is a big forest, full of massive oak and maple trees where the bamboo grows along the trees, and is just as tall. Very few have ventured into these woods, for it has remained unexplored for centuries. The grove is surrounded in legend and superstition, but one legend passed down for eons seems to carry some truth. The tale says that long ago, when the Second Age was long ended and Plague and Nature fought over the world, four celestial beings came down to Sorenith. These creatures were The Four Sphinxes, the beings of the seasons. Legend says these Sphinxes traveled the galaxies, spreading their seasonal magic and beauty. When they came to our world, it was in upheaval. Disease and growth, bone and root, all fought for dominance. The world had few beings on it besides the warring elementals, but the Sphinxes shared their beauty nonetheless. They each chose a small piece of the earth where they could make their domain. Summer chose a land on the shores of the sea, where they showered in sunshine and a dense jungle. Spring chose theirs in a land of conifers and dry grass, and gave it bursting flowers and flowering trees. Winter chose an island on icy floes, where crystals punctured the snow. They rained conifers and holly on the cold island, and gave it a bit of their magic. Autumn was the last one to chose, and they picked a small grove of bamboo trees where the wind always blew. They gave it rich red oaks, maples bursting with sap, and a crisp chill to the air. Satisfied, The Four Sphinxes considered their work done and left to travel the stars once again. The story also says that somewhere in the groves, the Sphinxes left a little seed of their power, hidden somewhere in their land. For those who were worthy enough to find it, the little shred of magic could give them some of the celestial Sphinx's magic. Many have searched for the groves, but very few have borne fruit. Still, the dragons search in hope that someday, their magic will be revealed... |
