Awake

A dragon that rarely speaks, Awake seems to have belonged to the Forest long before any other Veilspun came to reside here, perhaps even longer than Silva herself. Some clan members think he may actually be the physical embodiment of the Forest's spirit. In any case, he is an ancient, likely immortal being, and everyone in the clan treats him with reverence and respect.

Although "healer" isn't an entirely accurate description of his abilities, the other Forest Veilspun seek Awake's aid when in need of solutions for their ailments and cures for their illnesses. The male possesses a curious magic which can often heal physical and mental wounds when traditional medicinal practices fail. Unfortunately, Awake can be a hard dragon to find. He often disappears entirely for weeks on end, invisible to everyone no matter how hard they might search for him. This peculiar behavior is what has led some clan members to believe that Awake is actually part of the Forest itself, and that these "disappearances" are just the Forest recovering the energy it exerts to appear as a physical entity.

Wherever he has come from, or whatever he may be, Awake is the heart of the clan, while Silva its head. Although the two aren't necessarily a bonded pair, Silva is the only dragon that Awake seems close to, and he can often be found accompanying her throughout the Forest, almost like a familiar. Determined as ever to unravel the Forest's secrets, Lazuli is Awake's greatest nemesis, and his "disappearances" tend to occur more frequently when the tenacious mage is looking for him.
