Unagi

Uh-oh, looks like this control freak wandered a little too far from her home lair (Volrin, #261879), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to her home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

Unagi goes by she/her pronouns, and it would be greatly appreciated if you used them in any lore that you write for her. Also, in speech, Unagi frequently refers to herself in the third person.

Biography:

Hate is a strong, strong word, and Unagi would never dream of using it in reference to her mother. However... Unagi never liked the way her mom drifted from place to place. Like seafoam, Skippy just went wherever her metaphorical current carried her, dragging her life behind her in a large wooden caravan. When Unagi was a hatchling, she loved travelling with her mom and their family, but as she grew older she began to yearn for some stability to her life. Unagi got tired of falling in love with people and places, only for her mom to force Unagi and her siblings to bid them teary farewells weeks... or months... later.

Unagi doesn't hate her mother... but she really did hate her childhood. Yeah. Hate is a strong word, but strong is just what Unagi needs to describe such sad experiences growing up.

Finally, Unagi is old enough to take control of her life! As soon as she reached maturity, Unagi was off, giving her hippie mother a tight hug and a rushed farewell but little else. She had always sworn that she would never become a nomad, a traveller like her mother was, but... well, it seems like the best way for Unagi to find a new home lair. And really, it was all she had never known! Travel, travel, travel, little rest stops here and there that were JUST long enough for Unagi to start getting comfy, and then travel, travel, travel some more. It had proven to be a good way of meeting new dragons, at least, and now without her mother to rush her along, Unagi can get as comfy as she wants.

Unagi wants to find a new home. A permanent lair, a stable one that won't make her pack up her things and move along like she had to growing up. Unagi wants to be in control... and she worries that other dragons will be annoyed by her need for it, that if she ever finds a mate and raises a family they'll all find her overbearing. Maybe it's a bad personality trait that Unagi will have to address, and work on overcoming...

But for now, Unagi travels, and she celebrates being free from her mother.
