Aseroe is known for her obsessive collecting of anything that shines, clan members say it's best to keep precious belongings on you at all cost if you come anywhere near her. Not only is Aseroe fond of shiny things, but she's willing to tell anyone about something or someone for a trade. This can be handy if you want to know how to bond with another dragon in the clan.

History

Named after the Aseroe Rubra fungus, Aseroe is the second born daughter of the clan leaders. When she had hatched, the first thing she did was pick up a shiny rock on the ground and examined it. She has a fascination with shiny things, she used to collect shiny rocks she'd find outside, hiding them away by laying on top of them. As she grew up her interest in shiny rocks became an interest in shiny gems and jewelry. When Aseroe reached adulthood she would go out on her own outside, often returning home to her family with anything she was able to scavenge for. When the time of her family soon became the clan it is today she was tasked to take the role as the head scavenger. She now often brings valuable items which are often sold.

Known on a more personal level, is her hardship in finding love. Her first attempt was at romance with her sister's current mate Gelus, but her lack of experience in flirting came off as awkward compliments. Her second attempt was romancing a wandering dragon who was accompanied by another dragon, she shortly found that the dragon that he was with was his mate. Her third attempt was a surprise, a Wildclaw male named Oxalis approached her with a Ruby Brooch as a gift while she was out scavenging. She would usually snarl at any outsiders, but she was caught off guard by the colorful male. They would often meet at night under the stars, far away from the clan territory. The two would converse for hours, about the recent gems she would find and the familiars that he befriended. After months of being together in secret Oxalis wanted her to run away with him, but Aseroe refused as she didn’t want to leave her family behind. And so her lover offered another plan… He joins her clan, so that they can be together and no longer have to hide. However to become official mates he would have to face the trials of joining her clan, being with an outsider is a major taboo and he could be killed if they were discovered. Aseroe did her best to convince him that they could just continue their relationship the way they had been, but his hopeful and reassuring words made her cave.

She told him everything she could to assure that his plan would go smoothly. When he showed up to the clan territory the two were not to acknowledge each other, acting as if they had never met. If there was even a hint of the two being together, things could go sour quickly. All they could do is stick to their plan and hope that they would be able to live a life together without fear. Aseroe was still worried however, and so she made her partner swear that they would have no interaction during the trials. Once his trials were complete the two could speak to each other once again. She felt relief knowing she had cleared all possible giveaways of their relationship, it was time for them to put their plan in action.

It was hard for her to ignore him, just the sight of his violet wings from the corner of her eyes would urge her to look his way, but she resisted with all she had. To her, all the beautiful jewels she had collected over the years could never compare to him. As the trials went on the yearning for her love only grew stronger, and the same could be said for him.

It was late at night, Aseroe and her fellow scavengers had returned back to the cavern after a long day. She was getting ready to hit the hay when Oxalis popped out of nowhere. While she was capable of waiting, her partner however couldn’t take it anymore and had to see her again. Her and Oxalis had a small hushed argument in hopes that no one would hear or see them, He eventually scurried away and she was left looking around anxiously the rest of the night in fear that someone witnessed the encounter. The next day she saw Oxalis was still continuing his trials, she was happy to still see him breathing. The end of the trials were nearing, and all she could think about was what her life with him could be like once he was accepted.

As night took over, Aseroe was drifting off to sleep, but before she could do so her ears heard something rather faint. Something didn’t feel right. Lifting her tired head she tried getting a better understanding of what she was hearing. It was at that moment Aseroe regretted ever agreeing to Oxalis’ plan. She could hear the sound of a wildclaw crying out in pain, and she already knew who it was. She got up and ran out her den to find Oxalis pinned down to the ground by her father. She watched her father dig his teeth into Oxalis’ neck, her siblings who were standing by took notice of her and attempted to hold her back. She got out of their grip just in time to pull her father away while Oxalis ran away. She watched as her siblings and other dragons chased after him, all she could do now was prepare for what was to come. Aseroe was forbidden from stepping outside the cavern for months, her being the clan leader's daughter gave her a much softer punishment than any other member would receive. That was the last night she saw Oxalis, she thought she had finally found the love of her life but was only met with heartbreak once more. She knew he was still alive, his lifeless body would’ve been strung up from the ceiling by her family if he wasn’t. She was never going to see him again, if his name was even heard from afar the hunt would begin again.

Aseroe did learn to love again years later after meeting her current mate Rhizopus. He was recently accepted into the clan when they first met. She had become more quiet after what had happened, not speaking to others and being as rambuncus as she once was. The first time she saw him was when she was getting ready to go hunting with her fellow scavengers. She always heard him digging around, terraforming the cavern as needed, but she never had seen what he looked like until she accidentally locked eyes with him when looking around to make a head count. He was there helping with some construction being done at the cavern entrance, and he just so happened to look around at the time she did. He gave her a polite smile before he returned his attention to what he was doing. She and Rhizopus started to socialize with one
