U N N A M E D motherly • creative • friendly «- - - - - - - - - - - - - ❖ - - - - - - - - - - - - -» she was born from a volcano, and was the first geode dragon born from the surrounding magic. she grew up mostly alone, having no birth parents or siblings. it didn't bother her too much, as she didn't know anything different. one day, she befriended a curious traveler who was traversing her mountain. they shared a meal and conversation. he spoke of the world beyond the mountain and the many dragons he had met - she spoke of her origins and her special gift. both were entranced by the other's stories. eventually, he had to make his departure. he asked if she would like to accompany him, but she declined. she weaved him a beautiful stone as a parting gift so he would remember their time together. he thanked her and hoped she would find an adventure for herself. having discovered the pleasure of company, she began to find herself feeling lonely after he left. life on the mountain didn't seem as fulfilling anymore when there was no one to share it with. she thought of his wishes for her to find an adventure, and wished she had accepted his invitation. she knew it was time to leave home. hoping herself not to be the only of her kind, and not wanting another to experience the loneliness she had, she sets out on a quest to find other dragons like herself. along the way she learned a lot about her powers, and began selling wares at the roadside as she traveled. she made jewelry and tools from her own geodes, which easily drew attention due to their beauty. perhaps the biggest selling point of these was of course their origins - when she shared the story of each piece, and a bit of her own tale as well, her listeners were always in awe. these pieces were absolutely one of a kind. eventually she found a small black hatchling hiding in a cave, born from its shadowed walls as she had been from the volcanic ash. she was quiet and aloof at first. together they found a small hatchling born from a glacier. they were like her - geode dragons - although their magic was quite different from her own. they could only create certain gems and their powers were quite weak. due to her age and the fact she was the first of her kind, she has the capability to create nearly any precious mineral regardless of composition. still, she has her specialities. she prefers to create boulder opals (mosaics of opal among natural rock bedding) as well as dragon egg septarian. while they're not the perfect, flawless stones many desire, she treasures them. they're unique, and there is beauty in imperfections.

geode dragons have a duct that creates special tears - when exposed to air these solidify into gems. they're painless for the dragon, just like normal tears, and they don't use any of the bodies natural resources except energy. still, a dragon cannot make too many too quickly or they will feel weak (as one does when cried out). the stones will hold the bodies warmth for several minutes before reaching room temperature.
