Biography
Tales of woe, anger, love, and treason: these are the thin veil that splits the world of the living from that of the dead. Only the chosen few, specifically one every other century, is able to decipher these stories. But not only can they decipher these forgotten tales, they can change them. Sadness into happiness. Despair into forgiveness. Rage into fear. But not every holder of this power uses it for good. What would happen if the dead were riled instead of tamed? Fueled, instead of forgotten? Styx did not intend to go against his better judgement - none of them ever do, really - but this kind of power cares not who it corrupts, nor how horribly it twists even the kindest intentions. It is for this reason that the Graveyard sent a Mourning Flower to his side: a light to penetrate the corrupting darkness, one with the power to send souls to the afterlife to counter the one calling them back to the living world. Now, with a more stable head on his shoulders, Styx can tap into this unique generational ability for both offensive and defensive benefit, summoning the restless dead to his aid for mundane and mystical tasks alike before sending them back to their final resting places once more. Human Styx by the amazing passport, revised by me! Lore written by the amazing Zeza, and expanded upon by me! SAVE THIS LORE Born in X but promptly exiled due to X (perhaps due to X), X believes that no dragon should have to suffer purely because their colors don't "match". This unusual philosophy has earned them derision from many a clan, as many modern clans value appearance over personality, and most "imperfect" dragons are given a meaningless name and sent off to their respective deities for a tidy sum. This practice saddens X greatly, and while they understand that not all dragons can live up to their clan's expectations, exalting one's own hatchlings for something as simple as undesirable colors is beyond heinous in their eyes. Due to their stance on exalting, X has never really fit in with any clan that they've become a member of. Though there are a few dragons that sympathize with their perspective, most are content to turn a blind eye and continue exalting their "failures" without a second thought. While X has done their best to make peace with the practice, their heart cannot help but bleed for their less desirable kin whose untold numbers have found their place among the ranks of the Eleven. Even so, they cannot help but wish that there was a better way to rescue unwanted dragons than selling them in the unpredictable halls of the Auction House or leaving them to be ruthlessly scrutinized in a hatchery. |
