Biography

Breed Change: Veilspun

Hemlock started life as a curious and excitable fae called Marian. His adventurous spirit brought him all across Sornieth, from the depths of the Viridian Labyrinth to the peaks of the Crystalspine Reaches. Marian had a penchant of sticking his tiny snout wherever it wasn't wanted and this came to bite him hard.

During his stay in the Arcanist's domain, Marian became obsessed with the stories of strange creatures who rode comets down to earth. He went searching for traces of them, paying no mind to the warnings of the local dragons about the dangers these creatures posed.
Near a dense copse of foliage on the Starwood Strand Marian found his first clue. He'd seen a small meteorite land in the brush the previous night, and now spotted clear signs of the impact. Throwing caution in the wind he made his way through the copse, flitting and crawling through trees packed so close no larger dragons would've been able to follow him.
The trees abruptly ended at a small clearing. Broken branches and upturned roots told Marian he had found the spot, which was confirmed by the soft pink glow eminating from a deep hole in the ground. The fae now felt a growing sense of unease, brought on by the utter stillness and lack of sound in the clearing. He pushed it aside, curiosity trumping his instinct to run back the way he came. Slowly he crawled across the charred remains of a tree, unfurling his long neck to risk a peak down the hole...
Without warning, Marian felt himself being yanked from his perch. Small claws gripped him tight as he whipped around in surprise. The creature grabbing him looked unlike any Marian had seen before. It was about his size with a long body and tail. He couldn't discern much of its features beneath the mop of stringy hair that covered it from head to toe, but its purple eyes glared at him with intelligence.
Realising that this could well be one of the beings he'd been looking for, Marian tried to struggle free from his assailant. The creature hissed and tried to drag him away from the hole, but the fae flicked his tail at it and lashed it across the face. It loosened its grip for just a moment, but that was enough for Marian to break free and scurry back up the tree. Enraged, the creature whipped its head up at him and spit up a bolt of black gunk. Marian easily sidestepped the attack, flying up and landing on a branch a few feet further away. Before his attacker could launch a second missile, he lowered his frills and called out to it.

'Stop! I haven't come here to hurt you, I swear! Please, I don't want to fight!'

The creature snarled at his words, launching another bolt of goop, which landed pitifully short. Then, to Marian's shock, it replied to him in perfect, if strangely accented, draconian.

'Hah! Do not try to trick me, impertinent fool. You and your brethren delight in messing with powers you have no understanding of. And the Arcanist's brood is the worst of all!'

Marian had no idea what the creature was talking about. His brethren? Did the strange being mean the fae, as a species?
He decided not to go into it. He had one question, burning so hot it was out before he could consider the consequences.

'Did you come here riding the comet? Are you from outer space?'
