ILTAVARTIA
|| the spirit of lost causes ||
empathetic | altruistic | cynical

tYqLNrr.png "I promise it's better for us who find their way to the table of sinful"
One of the less known spirits, Iltavartia doesn’t make a big number of what she truly is. Only a few speaks the stories of her life before the spirithood and even less knows the true version of the events that led the imperial’s life towards the impending doom and ascension to the spirithood.

It is said Iltavartia was an exile herself, banished from her home for sheltering the criminals, the wanderers, anyone who wasn’t welcomed to the clan thousands of years ago. Despite the fact she got in trouble because if them, the ones she took care of followed her through the lands of Sornieth, protected her from all the harm they possibly could in their endless gratitude towards the one who took them in when nobody else wouldn’t even glance at their direction.
One of her newer followers, a newfound exile, didn’t have as good intentions in their mind as the others – they got an offer from a strange clan near the ruins, a clan that believed a nomad camp that close to them would bring only harm.
”Bring us Iltavartia’s head, and you’ll receive a place from our clan.”
And so, in the darkest of nights, Iltavartia stood alone, guarding their resting place from any dangers waiting outside, not even considering the threat was inside their clan. At least not until it was too late, the sharp pain pierced straight through her back.

After the bitter end, many say that the elder spirits felt pity towards Iltavartia, using their might to spare the imperial from death and raise her again in a less mortal form.
And so, she got her title of the spirit of the lost causes.

Perhaps the stories are true, perhaps not, the imperial doesn’t speak of them much as she continues on what she started an eternity ago – taking all the abandoned under her wings and protecting them from the dangers and hatred of the outer world.

As easy as it is to guess, Iltavartia is known from the endless empathy she shares with anyone less lucky. She wishes to assist others by the best of her abilities as long as it is a reasonable task… At least if they’re outside Alamaa, but for her own she will go to extremes to keep them safe and help them with anything that is troubling them.
Though Iltavartia seems like a decent being, she can be quite cynical towards strangers and outsiders. With her good insight, she uses the most of the first encounter to try and see through intentions they might try to keep away from her. Her own are the priority, and so if they pose a danger towards Alamaa they aren’t welcomed anywhere near their camp.

Another title blessed to her is the Matriarch of Alamaa, as the clan members prefer to introduce her to strange clans Alamaa rarely contacts or trades goods with. Iltavartia doesn’t care for titles on that much, she rather thinks herself as a friend to others, but she won’t stop her clan members reminding any stranger that she, in the end, holds all the power of Alamaa’s actions in her hands.
And if you can’t behave, she won’t hesitate to use it, cut off all the trade and never contact them again, leaving some without the rare herbs and treasures from ancient ruins they’d be looking for.
