A good chunk of her lore appears in Scarlet's bio, but I will share the rest of it here. Artemis was born to a clan of skilled archers that abided by a strict code of conduct. Whenever an archer reached age, they would leave the clan and explore Sornieth. Many returned to the clan after a year while others did not. Artemis was one of the latter. On her journies, Artemis met a retired duelist on the outskirts of the Sunbeam Ruins, who spoke fondly of her many years of duels. Eager to learn, Artemis practically begged her to teach her ways. The retired duelist reluctantly agreed and within months, Artemis was ready to flex her skills. She took to Sornieth to duel her way through the masters. An ambitious, quick learner, Artemis became infamous among the dueling communities, defeating even the strongest of dragons. One day, she heard of another, a rival. (The following sections can be found in detail in Scarlet's bio, but this is a summary). Artemis and Scarlet agreed to a duel at noon and fought until sundown, neither gaining the upper hand. A storm began, and lightning struck a tree, causing it to fall onto the battlefield, effectively dividing the field in half as if the deities themselves willed the battle to end. In the following weeks, Artemis and Scarlet became acquainted, and Scarlet decided to join Artemis on her travels. Within the following years, they fell in love and adopted an abandoned hatchling, which they named Sakura. One day, Artemis became severely injured in an earthquake, and Scarlet carried her injured body to the nearby clan of Prism Clan, where they would later settle down. (End of summarized sections.) Artemis recovered from her injuries sustained during the earthquake. However, she was not anywhere near the strength she was at before. This would persist for many years with bouts of chronic pain and weakness. Presently, she has made a full recovery from her injuries and is leading a successful life with her mate, her now grown-up daughter, and her role as lead huntress. She looks back fondly on her days of adventure and duels and young love. However, she looks fondly at her present as well. Some say that love and romance fade over the years, but that has never been true for her and Scarlet. Their love has never faded but grown and strengthened. She is a motherly dragon who looks out for her family and the rest of her clan. She is highly respected by all who meet her. |
