Biography

Whisper || The Serene Assassin
Slowly. Gently. This is how a life is taken.
___________________________________________________________________________________

With her impassive gaze and pelt well-suited to blending into the white of the Southern Icefield, Whisper embodies everything about the massive, frosted expanse she was born in. She knows how to take delicate steps in any terrain so that she may remain as silent as the snow. This quiet extends to her personal life as well. Though her parents tried to teach her all of a high end merchant's charms and tricks, Whisper chose to never speak. Being selectively mute did not hinder her, however. She was able to learn the subtle nuances of inviting body language, and many describe Whisper as being simultaneously stoic and magnetic. This mysterious and seemingly conflicting combination of traits intrigues customers, friends, and foes alike. Those that are attentive may notice, however, that when Whisper is around a girl she fancies, her cold disposition melts completely. This otherwise intimidating Skydancer becomes flustered and silly.

Whisper's quirks became indispensable to her family when they fell on hard times. When she had just reached adulthood, a plague rampaged through her clan. Many of her loved ones fell ill and were in need of care. Those that recovered or avoided becoming sick were turned away by other clans, as they did not want to trade with those that could pass on illness. In order to support her people, Whisper needed treasure quickly from a job that did not force her to speak. When asking around, she was faced with a choice: there was something that would pay nicely, and she was well-suited for, but it came at a heavy cost.

Nonetheless, Whisper agreed.

Assassin work was all too easy for her, and soon enough, Whisper was single-handedly making enough to support her entire clan. Even after all recovered from the plague, a bad reputation about the clan persisted, and so they continued to rely upon Whisper. Word spread of the Skydancer's deadly efficiency, and soon she was being contracted by dragons from all over Sornieth. Whisper proved herself again and again, and so she drew the attention of a clan by the name of Purgatory. If she lent her services to them exclusively, they would provide a lifetime amount of funds for her family, even after Whisper's assistance was no longer needed. Knowing that her clan would never go through such hardships again enticed Whisper.

But the stories of the targets she was assigned swayed this quiet dragon's heart. Most of the other assassination jobs she had taken were more like vigilante work, or vengeance. But Purgatory was hunting down those that had escaped its claws and told of the horrors they had seen from within. Guilty and unable to bring herself to do her work, Whisper resigned. In turn, the warriors of Purgatory wiped out the rest of Whisper's clan along with less merciful mercenaries.

Heartbroken and alone, Whisper wanders Sornieth in search of something to give her hope now that her loved ones are gone.
