CALAVERA
BARD/THIEF A young guardian with a flair for dramatics. Calavera captivates her audience with her bone harp, playing delightful tunes and singing wonderful songs... while her adoptive dad, NightClaw, robs the rich snobs listening. A tag team for the ages when it comes to thievery, Calavera has learnt everything she knows from NightClaw, and looks up to him a lot. NightClaw found her egg while laying low in the Tangled Wood, drifting along the shallow rivers of the Driftwood Drag. Initially, he fished it out of the river as food, thinking the child inside must be dead anyway, but lo and behold, he could hear the crooning of a young dragon about to hatch. In a spur of the moment decision, he decided to at least guard the egg until the youngling hatched, and then send it off to a nearby clan, who could look out for it. However, when the young guardian broke out of its egg, opening its bright green eyes, so curious, so trusting, something in his heart clenched. |

He kept telling himself he should find a proper parent for the kid, that his lifestyle was no good for such a young one... but the guardian, whom he hadn't yet named, kept looking at the world so curiously, kept curling up by him as if he was her parent, relieving some of the loneliness he hadn't realized his lifestyle had brought upon in him. In the end, he couldn't bring himself to give the child away, and named her Calavera. The years went by, and despite some difficulties due NightClaw's lifestyle as a thief, Calavera grew up a happy child, the morals her father holds instilled into her from a young age. She despises those who keep riches to themselves, believing everyone should be equal. No one dragon is better than another, in her opinion, and no dragon should have to suffer just so another can become even more wealthy. Calavera's guardian charge is her bone harp, hand-crafted and gifted to her by her adoptive father. She can often be found lovingly plucking the strings, humming little tunes, polishing it, and just trying to keep it in the best shape possible. She will proudly show it off to all, and, other than the scheme with her father to rob the audience, she genuinly does delight when people compliment her on her music. Calavera and NightClaw ended up in the Purring Winds after being chased there by the forces of a rich water dragon, where they were judged to be good people by both Bran and Yachini. In return for their services in helping the clan's scavenging team, they receive food, shelter, and protection. They never stay long, as they are traveling thieves, but ever since first being chased into the clan, it has become a sort of central point for them where they can return for rest.
