Dietrich was quickly abandoned when he failed to live up to expectations. Though he had been created from perfect parts, they had been assembled without thought to the greater whole, leaving him ugly and awkward. Aged and lacking in resilience, his bones and joints deteriorated at a rapid pace. His skin stretched too tightly in some places, and sagged loosely in others. Even his mind was abnormal; quick-witted but moody, sullen, far too prone to temper. Yes, it was clear early on that Dietrich was never be the person he was made to be.

On his happier days, he even forgot to feel sorry for that.
