Amphitrite

Amphitrite possesses incredible power. She has unparalleled magical abilities, even compared to the clan matriarch, Brooke, and Brooke's primal daughter. She believed that she had divine birthright to rule.

This did not sit well with Brooke, who had worked hard to build the clan up from nothing.

Brooke and Amphitrite butted heads on multiple occasions, with Amphitrite believing that Brooke was not up to par to rule the clan, solely because she was not "chosen by Tidelord". Brooke countered with the argument that she worked for her right to rule, which made her more than capable--not to mention the Tidelord wasn't even around anymore. She even attempted to use her mind control powers on Amphitrite, but unfortunately it was in vain.

The two dragons decided to settle their dispute in battle. While Amphitrite had far more power in terms of Water magic, Brooke was far more cunning. She managed to defeat Amphitrite, and forced her into submission.

Humiliated by her defeat, Amphitrite went into exile, wandering to the dangerous lands of the Molten Scar--a place often lethal to Water dragons. She was content to shrivel up and die, convinced that she was not worthy to live anymore.

Brooke, however, saw things differently. The moment she noticed Amphitrite was missing, she dispatched a search party to find her, assigning different elemental dragons to their respective regions. Careful not to overstep their boundaries, the dragons searched.

Vesuvius is the one who found her. On the brink of death from dehydration, Amphitrite was completely oblivious to anything going on around her. Vesuvius rushed her back to the Sea, and as soon as she was dipped in the refreshing waters, she stirred, her consciousness returning to her.

"Why... why did you save me?" she croaked.

"Because," Vesuvius responded, "Brooke was worried about you."

"But I... she defeated me."

He gave her a quizzical look, his fiery eyes smoldering. "What does that matter? You're still a part of our Clan."

"I am...?"

"Yes, of course you are." Vesuvius sighed. "You don't understand, do you? We're all a family. No matter what. Brooke loves all of us as if we were her children. Sure, she was hurt that you challenged her rule. But she understands, and she wants you to continue to be a valued member of the Mystics of the Sea." He smiled gently. "Besides, we miss you."

And so, Amphitrite returned to the Mystics' clan. She and Brooke reconciled, and now Amphitrite serves as a very important member--she is a prophet, divining prophecies directly from the remnants of the Tidelord's domain. She was the leading force in the Mystics' search for the Tidelord, and she trains new and existing recruits in the intricacies of Water magic.
