Biography
Uh-oh, looks like this protester for the Exalted travelled a little too far from his home lair, (Volrin, #261879) and now he's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him to his home lair, to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here, or to the hub if you don't want another dragon in return. This is not necessary, but he would be very grateful!
Important note: Please only trade this dragon on travelling dragon threads or with trusted users, as opposed to places such as the Auction House. Pumpernickel would like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt him after he's been travelling long enough, just let Volrin know! Biography:
Pumpernickel understands that Exaltation is a high honour, the greatest privilege that a clan can bestow upon one of their dragons. And of course he holds unwavering respect for the elemental deities... but he just can't bring himself to forgive the fact that his father, Alexand, was Exalted against his will -- and merely days into his adventures as a travelling dragon, to boot.
Pumpernickel wants to be proud of his father for joining the Exalted, but knowing that the Guardian had never wanted to be bound to a deity, that he wished to be free to roam and explore Sornieth, doesn't sit well with the Ridgeback. Some facts of Exaltation actually really bother him, like the existence of clans that scoop up hatchlings and indoctrinate them into joining the Exalted to turn a profit, and marauders that will capture travellers and turn them over to the first deity's ambassador that offers them good coin.
Fortunately, Pumpernickel has recently caught word of a Fae named Naomi and her offspring -- more colloquially known as the Gatekeepers -- dragons that supposedly keep heavy contact with the eleven deities and are even known to be able to free Exalted dragons of their servitude. He has become a travelling dragon in the hopes that he can someday meet a Gatekeeper, one that can reunite him with his father, even if only for a short time. Otherwise, on his travels, Pumpernickel hopes to learn more about Exaltation and maybe find some good in it, to change his pessimistic point of view.

Travel Log:
tanujagtap: Pumpernickel came upon the City of Saibhreas mostly by accident. Nestled in a cozy little rocky outcropping on the border of the Sunbeam Ruins and the Shifting Expanse, he definitely would have missed it and kept flying if he hadn't noticed the lights floating above the city. Intrigued, he dove in, and at the gate he was stopped by a guard named Blossom.
The guard examined his papers and checked that Pumpernickel wasn't wanted for any crimes by other cities' guards, and then stepped back to allow the Ridgeback inside. He stopped to ask her about the lights in the sky, and she gladly told him about the Trades Festival, when dragons from across Sornieth came to show off their artisanal skills and compete for prizes. At the end of the day, tiny electric lanterns were enchanted to float in the air over the city, and the celebrations could begin.
He spent a lovely week there, and helped to clean up after the festival as a thanks to the city for welcoming him. After that, Pumpernickel went on his way.

KingVulture: Pumpernickel was still feeling terribly upset about what had happened to his father. There was only one thing left for him to do, to ease his heartache... go to the clan that his father was born in. Luckily for the Ridgeback, his father's birthplace was easy to find; and he was soon to find out that they hardly ever sent dragons to be Exalted.
The only dragons that were sent to serve the Plaguebringer in Crow Callers were the occasional hatchling of their founders, Naxo and Harper -- and even then, it was only if the children themselves elected to do so. Everyone the Ridgeback spoke to understood his chagrin towards being Exalted. Many dragons sent out of Crow Callers, be they travellers or those born there, unfortunately ended up sent to deities against their will, including Pumpernickel's father himself.
However, the clan's residents did their best to show the Ridgeback some of the positives to getting Exalted when one wants. Pumpernickel still wasn't sure how to feel, but during his stay he met a dragon named Weird Science, and the two had hatchlings together -- unaware that they were both descendants of Gengyar, quite removed but cousins all the same. Probably best to keep them in the dark about this awkward situation...
Pumpernickel decided to leave the clan soon after their eggs hatched, hoping with all his heart that his hatchlings could find their own loving homes. In fact, he began to wonder if this clan could be his own loving home someday?

This project is to, basically, give [Gengyar] a giant lineage. Just because he's ugly doesn't mean his children will be! I want him to have a mostly, if not totally, unexalted lineage because IT IS AN HONOR TO BE THE SON OR DAUGHTER OF A LEGENDARILY UGLY DRAGON.

Exalting Pumpernickel to the service of the Lightweaver will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
