"I may be small in size, but my legacy will be greater than any of you will ever imagine."
STORY
Believe it or not, the Headmistress of Altosacro Academy was not always an important figure, nor a respected scholar. There was once a time when Pinaria was a petite, innocent hatchling, and she was not noticeably different from any of her siblings. Just another tiny fae in a colony of... dozens. Pinaria's mother was what you would call a busy dragon. She was not a prominent scholar, or anything of the sort. In fact, she was a disciple of the Windsinger; cheery, flighty, and eager to explore, following her most primal instincts, flying from place to place without a care in the world. Actually, she did not even care about her children's wellbeing. Her progeny followed her around restlessly, begging, forced to compete with the wonders of the world for the attention of an easily distracted mother. Most of the tiny fae were under the guide and protection of the Windsinger, so they would soon learn to fend for themselves and keep up with their mother's migratory pace. Pinaria, however, had been born in the Starfall Isles, under the watch and protection of the Arcanist, because of a tiny scheduling mistake in the colony's route. At first, this wasn't really a big problem for anybody. After all, a hatchling is a hatchling, no matter the color of their eyes. It was the tiny details that began to set her apart from the rest of her clan. She got used to flying at the very back of the group, as she was always getting distracted by the stars in the sky, or the glow of a plant. This was normal in a hatchling, moreso in a wind-aligned family; but this was not the transitory distractiveness of her siblings. She wasn't so eager to instantly go see something else, and the promise of prettiest things waiting ahead did not easily get her attention back. She would, in fact, stop and stare in silence and wonder, or poke at her older siblings to ask all kinds of questions: "Why are there little dots in the sky?", "How come this flower glows? Does it have fire inside?" Some believed that was cute, and stayed behind just to keep an eye on her. However, over time, her questions and habits started to become annoying to her siblings. Some questions just couldn't be answered, and Pinaria just didn't seem to understand. She would often ask the group to stay longer in one place just because she had made an interesting discovery, and only slowed them down for what her clan believed to be no reason at all. Pinaria had already gotten used to her siblings' disdain and disapproval. She had bottled up her frustration, her anger, her sadness and discomfort, and decided one day that those feelings did not matter at all. Her life would be short, and there were yet too many things to discover about the world. She wouldn't waste her time aimlessly flapping her wings around just to see things, when she could be understanding them. From then on, the only thing she found worth focusing on was research. She stopped asking questions and bothering her family. She became so immersed in her studies that she would stay behind for days without them even noticing she was missing. Eventually, even they forgot about her, and left Pinaria to find her own way. Maybe it was destiny, maybe it was the Arcanist's will... but she ended up wandering back to the Starfall Isles, drawn by the immense cosmic energy they held. It was there that she finally found her clique, other dragons that understood her, scholars. They marvelled and looked in awe at her notes and discoveries, roughly scribbled in scavenged pieces of paper. She was a true genius in the making. However, she did not seem to understand the simplest concepts, like the importance of a clan or a family, love, or spiritual beliefs. One day, one of her colleagues said to her, "Without a place to call home, or dragons to call your family... who will continue your research when you're gone?" Her eyes were opened suddenly. Until that moment, she had been mindlessly flying around, just like her siblings and her mother. Now, she had a dream.
PERSONALITY
At first glance, one might be led to believe that Pinaria is a very serious dragon. Well, those impressions are absolutely correct. Quite inexpressive and hard to read even for other fae, the Headmistress and Founder of Altosacro Academy prefers to keep to herself and tend to her own business without counting on anybody (sometimes, not even her husband). Not a fan of small talk, parties or crowded places, Pinaria believes she can very well manage her life alone; sometimes, even other people's feelings aren't easy to understand for her. Pure logic is so wired into her brain that she has a hard time getting out of the strictly practical mindset. This often makes her come out as cold and insensitive. However, Pinaria does acknowledge greatness and trascendence. In fact, she's been trying to reach it for many years, and it is the reason the Academy was founded. A part of her longs for the spiritual and the unknown, maybe because it is, according to her, the only thing she lacks. It was thanks to the innocent and caring Callicles, now her husband, that she started to realize it. In a general sense, Pinaria is open to new ideas, knowledge, and experiences, but at the same time is highly disciplined and critical. She wants to make sure to invest her time and thoughts only on the best people and ideas, so if she considers something is not worth her time, she forgets about it completely and moves on. On the other hand, as soon as something piques her interest, she will not let it go until it's realized to its highest degree. There are absolutely no half-baked projects in her mind. This black and white attitude has always earned her the reputation of being cruel, stubborn and close-minded, but in her eyes, she's just brave enough to focus on what really matters. The fact is, nobody can deny that her iron will is precisely the reason she's in this position. She really believes in the Academy, her most precious life project; in her husband, the teachers she's chosen, and the knowledge she keeps, and she will not abandon them no matter what happens. So if anyone, for any reason, happens to cross her, they better prepare for the storm that's about to come to them.
