Yara was born in an Ice clan, but joined a Nature clan shortly after birth. She found a fellow Ice tundra there and they decided to nest together. But Yara longed for the icefields where she was born and left to find a clan in her homeland.
She joined Clan Diamond Dust in its early days and helped create and tend a small garden. Given the harsh frozen landscape, only hardy plants survived. When they moved their lair to its permanent location in The Fortress of Ends, she worked with Arcane and Nature dragons in the clan to create a greenhouse made with ice and magic. She tended the gardens there and grew food that wasn't normally native to the icefields. Yara also started cooking vegetarian meals and shared them with other plant eaters in the clan. Eventually, she started assisting Chess with the vegetarian portion of large meals and helped keep track of the plant inventory in the pantry. Although she occasionally missed the lush green lands of the Viridian Labyrinth, she was happy to help make the icefields a bit less harsh.

"After the...grievances...from yesterday, I may have dipped into one of our prize reserves," Bloodstone said, tapping a claw on the gently steaming teapot resting next to her before pouring herself another cup, "and it inspired me to change my original plans for today. You don't have to make tea, but you're going to be using the ingredients I used to make mine."
Chess, their clan’s aspiring chef, had asked her to fill in for him today – he wanted to explore other areas in the festival a bit more. With today’s set of ingredients, it made sense for her to step in as she was their expert in vegetarian cooking.
Yara pondered what she was going to do as she stared at the judge’s teapot. Bloodstone’s tea was giving off a pleasant, if slightly distracting, aroma. Actually… it gave her an idea: using a tea rub
Entry: Sweet Tea Vegetarian Bites
As she plated her finished dish, Yara popped a mushroom in her mouth to give it a try – mmm…just how she liked it. She only hoped the judges had similar taste.

Sorrel sniffed the air appreciatively. Something smelled good, smokey and sweet, with a hint of tea and char. Something being grilled? Barbeque? He loved barbeque!
Following his nose he stepped up to the pretty grey tundra's presentation, snagging a meaty looking chunk of whatever it was that smelled so good and popping it into his mouth.
He managed to get through two chews before he realized that it wasn't meaty he'd found, but mushroomy. He stopped chewing, a distressed look on his face.
It was surprisingly tasty, but also very, very, very vegetarian.
Swallowing the mushroom hard he looked at the hopeful tundra with a look bordering on indigestion. He had managed not to spit it out, but he still had to give the cactus a try.
Luckily, he was saved by a fluttering noise on his plate.
"Oh no" He said, trying to sound disappointed. "I seem to have a moth in my food. Looks like I'll just have to return it to you! I've been entirely put off my tea by this unfortunate event, I'll just let the other judges finish this."

2016 Ice Flight Trick or Treat - Greeter
A happy-looking, fuzzy Tundra dressed as wolf - oddly wearing a wizard's hat - greets you: "Welcome to Clan Diamond Dust! Thank you for visiting us during this very special season. We're treating everyone to an apple, a fall favorite of our plant eaters. It's tradition around here to bob for apples and to create yummy caramel apples... along with apple pies and apple fritters. Even baked apples! Oh, and they go great with cinnamon! There's also a bin full of some random items here, so let me just grab something from there for you too...
Safe travels back and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!"

Day 10 Nature Challenge - Entry: Panini with Tater Tots
Yara looked over the required ingredients - they would make a very nice salad. But, that's what everyone always expected from vegetarian cuisine: salads. Instead, she'd make a hearty sandwich with a side.
She grabbed a baguette, sliced it, and hollowed out the middle to create the proper bread to filling ratio. For the filling, she used sliced Miniature Potash Peach, shelled and toasted Paradise Seeds, minced Cattail leaves, sliced Fig, crushed dried Cindermint, and a tiny bit of Honeycomb Fragment to counteract the sourness of the potash peach. Yara used one of the panini presses from the pantry to press and grill the sandwich, to get it nice and hot.
For a side, she grated Potato Onion and Cattail, seasoned the mixture, then created little balls, which she fried to a crispy golden brown.
Plating the sandwich and tater tots, Yara added a spring of Cindermint for garnish.
