Uh-oh, looks like this sweet boy wandered a little too far from his home lair (Silverbolt1159, 434590), and now he's off to see the world! If you ever feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off to See the World' thread. If you don't want another traveler in return, you can also drop him off at the Traveling Dragon Rest Hub!

B I O G R A P H Y

Wildberry takes after his namesake - sweet and full of energy! So energetic that he's decided his home lair just isn't big enough to contain it all. He wants to see all the wonders of the world, and spread a little sweetness along the way! And maybe even pass on his prestigious lineage in the meantime <3
~Silverbolt1159, 10/20/2020

Wildberry found himself at the Sunbeam Lanternhouse, home of his great-great grandmother, Hiroko - and consequently, among countless extended family members, which he quite enjoyed. Hiroko's drive to spread the rainbow across Sornieth was quite familiar to him, as he too wanted to spread his lineage. He split his time equally between them and his fellow travelers, which included his cousin Fern.

She, however, didn't feel that he took his duty as a Guardian seriously enough and wasn't much interested in associating. He opined that she needed to lighten up.

And yet, by some twist of fate, he found himself drawn to another serious dragon, TearsOfPearls.

He did his best to make her laugh, to enjoy life. At first, he wasn't sure he'd succeeded: she was just as reserved as she'd ever been. But then she offered to nest with him. Sure that he was making progress in helping her have a joyful life, he accepted!

...Unfortunately, he hadn't realized that they were both descendants of Gengyar... or anticipated what Tears' reaction to that knowledge would be. She drove him away from her and their hatchlings.

Though he tried to apologize, she would not listen, and after some hopeless waiting for things to blow over between them, he moved on.

Wildberry Idea
yPL7vcO.gif
Wildberry flew around for some time before seeing many different dragons flying towards and down into a green glen in the middle of the forest. He followed them, excited to meet so many dragons and hopefully spread some joy. He was greeted by Axolotl, the Caretaker of the Fount of Travelers, the name of the place he now stood. "Welcome! And what is your name?" Asked the skydancer.

"Wildberry," the guardian proudly proclaimed.

"Oh! What a lovely name. One of my favorite ice creams is wildberry flavor. I think you'll fit in quite nicely here."

And so Wildberry did. But after some time, Wildberry grew antsy, feeling contained in the glen. He needed to get out and see the world once more.

Once Wildberry reached the island of Terreneuvia, he wasn't tired as most visitors were. In fact, when lead to the Wenlock Inn by Amelia, he merely set his stuff down on his bed and left. Though not before meeting a rather interesting case- a parasite, nesting a clutch of three eggs. He greeted it, and after talking for a while he left the inn, an idea sprouting in his mind. If this place allowed their visitors to nest eggs, why shouldn't he? After all, one of his main goals was to spread his precious lineage.

It didn't take long for Wildberry to find a dragon. She was a beautiful purple skydancer, in training for the coliseum. Her name was Morgan. Wildberry went with his classic 'make them laugh', and unlike his last attempt at it, it worked! The two had a nest, though due to an unfortunate accident there was only one healthy egg. The grief of loosing most of a nest was too much for both of them to handle, so once the hatchling was born, Wildberry set off, leaving Morgan to raise their sole child.

The cold of the ice warden’s realm didn’t help his mood much. After a few nights at the bed and breakfast he decided that it was time to move on. While he was there he met another traveler that had also come to the B&B. A female ridgeback named Tristan, but he had No interest in her.they ended leaving in the same direction together though. At least he had someone to talk to as he made his way out of the ice and snow. After. Being heart broken he might have just given up to cold.

Wildberry kept plodding along, both on foot and in the air, until he reached warm weather, on the Sunbeam Peninsula. There was something to be said for an environment that wasn't actively trying to kill you, though he did think he glimpsed Luminax from a distance at one point.

He checked into an inn called the Helianthus Haven near Lanternlea Port, and reluctantly started exploring the nearby shops after the Obelisk innkeeper more or less badgered him into it. He didn't feel much interest in anything he saw, but it got him out into the sunshine, and maybe that had been the point. Try as he might to mope, he eventually found himself feeling better.

It probably didn't hurt that he met Millidia, who had something of a family legacy of her own. "I make a habit of screwing it up and letting my ancestors down," she'd say, but he wasn't so sure. She was a healer, she tended her patients with care and devotion, and she kept her spirits up even when faced with the fact that her charge, an ailing Pearlcatcher, was slowly turning into a statue no matter what she did to help him. And despite facing down one of the worst tragedies a Guardian dragon could experience, she was still funny, determined, and forthright.

He was totally smitten. Lucky for him, she had a good sense of humor, too, and the two of them shared a nest. "Your, um, Aurelio, isn't going to mind?" he asked.

"Why would he? He's my charge, not my mate."

Good enough for Wildberry.

They had three hatchlings. The two oldest left home to seek their fortunes, or their charges, almost immediately; the youngest, Permia, elected to stay close to home, although she didn't seem to have any major goals in mind. "That's my girl," Millidia would say, whenever Permia told them about getting a job as a clerk, or a construction worker, or a waitress.

Wildberry, who'd started to feel a little self-conscious about living off of Millidia's earnings, was frequently working right alongside his daughter, but it bored him to tears. "You can just take off," Millidia told him one day. "My dad was a traveler, too. I know how it is."

He wasn't sure about leaving her - he was comfortable here, he'd enjoyed watching his daughter grow up, and he and Millidia still enjoyed each other's company - but she was so busy these days that they'd been growing apart, and, well, that legacy wasn't going to grow itself.

So in the end, he said an emotional farewell to his little family and set off for his next adventure.

Wildberry was still enjoying the Lightweaver's domain so he continued to travel around the Sunbeam Ruins. He spent some time with another local clan, but despite his best efforts to woo a pretty (but shy) Pearlcatcher female, he was unsuccessful and, frustrated, he decided to go on his way and put this unpleasantness behind him.

Arriving in the Tsunami Flats, Wildberry found himself living with a Skydancer female who hadn't found a permanent spot with the clan.

"Are you a newcomer?" she asked him.

Wildberry proudly proclaimed that it was his goal to spread love and maybe his lineage as far as he could.

The Skydancer agreed with him. She herself had formed other nests before coming to this clan. Together, they settled down to raise a nest, perhaps more than one, until the day came that Wildberry chose to move on or find another mate.

After hatching and raising a few nests, Wildberry was almost ready to move on. But, before he left, another Guardian dragon came into their section of land.

"Do you mind if I stay here?" she asked.

"Not at all," Wildberry answered after a moment. The Skydancer was already smirking at him, knowing where his mind was wandering to.

Sure enough, Wildberry found that perhaps he was comfortable hatching one more nest in the Tsunami Flats before going on his way.

Wildberry met a guardian named Saoirse beyond beauty that he decided to spend the rest of his life with at his last stop,

Together they flew to the clan of the whispering winds, spent a few days exploring and feasting on wonderful food, before getting engaged and having a little guardian named Caora.
