Akira Kurusu, alias Joker, is a transfer student at Shujin Academy and the secret leader of the mysterious Phantom Thieves group. Beneath his quiet demeanor is a strong-willed Wild Card, capable of exploiting the Metaverse. Although known to be quiet, Akira has a snarky and playful streak, including teasing his friends. He also taunts his enemies and has a flair for showing off, as well as making dramatic decisions on the spot. He's best friends with Ryuji and in a committed relationship with the former ace detective Akechi.
