Aster hardly knew her parents; her mother was destined to serve the gods, while her other parent was a traveler with a magical, all-consuming disease. She was hatched, along with two sisters, in the safe borders of Clan Kaishal, where she was raised. One sister was born inflicted with the same seed-bearing sickness as the one who fathered them, and the other chose to follow in her mother's footsteps, leaving Aster on her own.

Rather than succumb to loneliness and despair, however, she chose to serve the gods in her own way, by preaching their goodness and strength to the travelers who sojourn to Mount Kaishal. Her unwavering optimism is admirable, if a bit naïve.
