Sprig is the former scientist colleague of Zesty. He no longer works in the laboratory setting after a family member passed from a mold infection. Sprig wanted to get away from all of the demands of the medical science industry and decided to become a bartender at Lambanog’s night club.

Though he still keeps in touch with Zesty as a friend, he is concerned about her reluctance to share information with the general public and really wishes she would loosen up a little. The situation at the Quarantine Zone is appalling and Sprig knows there’s more going on there than meets the eye.

After dropping the traditional Plagueborn survival ideology he had been practicing for years, Sprig opted to become a member of Solivagant’s congregation in denouncing the deities entirely and absolving oneself from the stress of serving them without question. Though he finds the concept of identifying as “Flightless” to be heretical and silly, Sprig will admit that it has given him an immense peace of mind to let go of past obligations as well as provide the motivation necessary to reinvent himself.

It’s ironic that his boss Lambanog has also given up worship of The Eleven, only to devote himself to something else entirely. Spring has never seen this entity in the flesh, but its likeness is plastered everywhere in The Blight Club.

Fortunately, Lambanog doesn’t require employees to convert their beliefs toward his personal idol, and working around the strange artistic imagery is just another part of the job for Sprig.
