Theme

Zoisite, true to her name, was a stonecutter. often solitary and seeming withdrawn, she was tied to her work in a way few dragons could hope to replicate. Of course they couldn't. There was only one Zoisite. It was a bit silly of them, really. She would come out for the evening meal eventually! No worries.

Like her namesake, she was striped through with fantastical colours. Like her namesake, she was seldom seen outside. Like her namesake, she didn't hold much monetary worth... But that was okay with her. Money didn't really matter when you were doing what you loved.

And besides, wasn't the masonry she'd helped with beautiful? Weren't the jewels she sculpted perfectly level? She could care less about how much they sold for.

Sometimes she would hear whispers from her clanmates when she left her den. She paid them no heed. They only ever saw the outside of things, the rough shell of another dragon that surely hid something beautiful. Zoisite prided herself on being one who knew where to look. Her job was to cut away the excess and refine until she had something beautiful. If no one else saw, it was their loss.

The rest of the clan carefully skirted around the half-blind stonecutter. She was getting harder and harder to understand, and her eyes were only getting worse. It had been a long time since she had produced work like she used to, but occasionally there was a glint of something in the back of her hoard...
