하루하루를 함께 지내고 있습니다. 그는 자신의 소중한 인연이 동굴을 떠나지 않기를 바랍니다.

 눈이 소복하게 쌓이고 녹길 반복하며 흙을 단단히 굳혔습니다. 이젠 땅이 무너지지 않고서야 그들이 다녔음을 알려줄 발자국은 결코 지워지지 않을 것입니다. 다만 저 두터운 눈 아래에 감춰져 있을 뿐이죠. 부드럽게 밟히던 땅이 무거운 짐승들이 지나도 꿈쩍 않을 돌덩이를 닮아갔듯이, 그 역시도 더이상 어린아이가 아니었습니다. 자신을 이끌어주던 그들과 다름 없는 모습이 되었죠. 차이점을 찾아보라고 한다면, 그들은 봄을 따라 이 땅 역시도 스쳐갔지만 그는 그들을 미처 따라가지 못했다는 것 정도일까요. 하지만 그는 괜찮았던 것 같습니다. 발자국과 냄새와 털이 이 땅에 온통 휘날리고 있었고, 자신의 모든 추억들은 이곳에 담겨 있었으니 말이에요. 그는 그것들을 선명하게 보존하기 위해, 그들이 머물던 동굴에서 몸을 둥글게 말고 회상하기 시작했습니다. 아마 그러다 자신도 모르게 잠이 들었던 모양입니다. 겨울잠을 자고 얼마나 긴 시간이 지났을까? 이제 깨어나서 주위를 둘러보니, 아무래도 그동안 이 땅에는 봄이 찾아오지 않았던 것 같습니다.
