Although he wouldn't tell you, Hroth has known Her Excellence since childhood. He knows that She is not guided by a higher power, nor does She believe in the "eras" She rants about, but rather she is led by Her desire to put an end to the suffering of others. She herself grew up on the outskirts of a town, surviving on only what She could scavenge. Her Excellence wishes that no other should have to go through that. The Khione, and their zealous beliefs, are nothing but a means to achieve this.

Only when She began to invent stories of coming calamity and strife, calling them out loudly in the streets for all to hear, did She find Her place in the world. Those who would not have given Her a second glace were suddenly captivated with Her. When She told them to help each other, to help carry each other into the coming era, they listened. Slowly but surely, Her Excellence gathered enough followers that they gained a name, and could make a difference. Dragons who had once been too weak to speak, let alone fly, grew strong enough to travel across Sornieth, singing the praises of Her Excellence and the Khione.

The sudden power and prestige that comes with acknowledgement could have been all-consuming but Her Excellence walks the line carefully. She knows she must keep up the act, and continue to serve as a leader for Khione, but She remembers her childhood. While some leaders indulge themselves in their wealth, Her Excellence lives a simple life.

And that is why Hroth loves her. From the day he met her, both of them small and timid, to now, he has always loved her. Her Excellence has not changed.

Yet while he carries love for her, Hroth knows his place and is content enough to serve her faithfully. For the sake of others Her Excellence has forsaken many things, family among them. And thus, so has Hroth.
