xx No one is really sure where Vessels came from, or what he is. His strange abilities to move, change, or even conjure items are beyond the realm of any to explain, even Schism. When Quintessence found him out in the snows of the frozen wastes, he was drawn to protect the little one, influenced by the hatchling’s strong aura. Alongside this was his sure sense of self, somehow projecting his name into Quintessence's mind. It’s unclear whether the hatchling cannot or simply will not talk, but he communicates in chirps and clicks like the youngest of hatchlings do. Attempts to teach him have so far been unsuccessful, despite everyone's best attempts. Now, Vessels rarely parts from his caretaker, and spends his days sleeping and lazing about the chilly caves, wrapped up in strange dreams of faraway, strange universes that feel so real but slip away as soon as sleep’s grip starts to fade… Lume Daffodil

Vessels is very attached to Quintessence, and seems to enjoy his presence most of all out of anyone in his life, even getting distressed when Quintessence is out of his sight for too long. He’s content to chirp and chatter about his dreams to his pseudo-father, who listens patiently and attentively despite not understanding a “word” that Vessels says.
