Biography

Djel - The Shadow Hunter of the Night. Shadow of the Day.

*Edit There are two complex and powerful forces that clash, that of the light and that of the darkness. Darkness would exist without light, but that is not such a case for the light. What is impressive is that the light pervades even with the threat of being engulfed by the black void. Use the stubbornness of the light to guide you and snuff out your fears, and the omnipresence of the shadows to protect you and give you the will to stand your ground.

Give way to the Light
Lumos has taken to learning from both Griett and Djel, continuing on by using her newly mastered powers to aid her matron, Hime. With their aid, she will become the most powerful witch of the Clan, quiet possibly within a great radius of the Plateau. Djel could not be more proud of the small Fae, although they would never be able to say the words. Especially not to Griett. She'd never let Djel hear the end of it.

The Unsightly Heir
It is one thing to have an heir to your skills, to impress upon and leave your history by the time your body has once again become one with the soil and your spirit soars the skies in careless bliss. It is another to have imprinted on the one to come long after, to teach your students successor. Djel is and will always be baffled by Nispe, the bumbling, boisterous Nocturne who relentlessly studies her masters teachings. Her chubby forme\ pervents flight and yet she races through the air with a bizarre grace. Her magiks are weak yet from her fingertips shoot fireworks and wicked spells. He watched over the heir of his heir and has, over time, taken on the role of the father the witch never had.

Chapters from a Dusty Tome

Out of the Shadows
Djel entered the lair on a strange, windless day, practically a ghost cruising in on the stagnant air. No one would have noticed their entrance had the dragons shimmering scales not given them away. Once they were spotted an alarm was raised, as no dragon had ever ventured so far into the lair without being noticed. A flurry of activity ensued, dragons crawling out of the dark tunnels to halt the invaders journey deeper into lair. A ring formed around the stranger until finally Hime stepped out of the shadows with her young charge, Lumos, and met with the beast borne made of shimmering jewels. A crystal hide was unheard of amongst the Clan, they were eager to hear his story; How did her enter? How could a dragon live with Crystal skin? There was great alarm when she sent the dragons off to their tasks, leaving the trio to speak quietly and leave questioned unanswered, but they did as she commanded respectfully.

The exchange was quick and before long Hime dipped her head, as did the newcomer, concluding the conversation and confirming their new place in the Clan. She then led them to the resident Shaman- Griett. They have since kept to the dragoness' side, doing her bidding in silence with absolute obedience. The only words Djel ever speaks are when Lumos comes to their side and asks them of their past and abilities. Djel indulges the young dragoness, much to Griett's amusement. The trio is thought to be past magical beings reborn into drake form, rekindled spirits teaching each other magics once again.

Into the Darkness
Djel is a powerful dragon capable of impressive and even terrifying feats. Stepping into the sunlight the magician merges with the shadows, rather than casting one. Djel snakes between the dark forms cast by others and listens in on conversations. When given the command, Djel is capable of inflicting damage to another dragon via their shadow. They use their skills to race through the plains unhindered by the wind, collecting herbs and trinkets which sink into the black pool to be brought back to the Griett (and by extension the Clan). During the night Djels reflective scales cast a hypnotic glow, stronger during the greater phases of the moon. The shimmering beast hunts for meals only during the hours the moon shines.

"Do not abhor the darkness, sometimes it is the only comfort some have."
- Djel
