The embodiment of Greed. The Eldest of the Sins. Ashtaroth and his little brother Orobas were the only ones for a very long time. Orobas was very very weak as soon after his creation the Gods discovered the Shade and formed the World Pillar, giving up their wrath for millennia. Fed by the greed and little morsels of wrath given by those of the second age, Orobas remained small and weak, with Ashtaroth having to give some of his energy to keep Orobas from fading entirely.
Ashtaroth gives up being Highlord when Wrath booms in power and wrests control from the younger sins that spring forth after the world pillar shatters.
Ashtaroth adores Orobas which is why he stays out of his way and lets him be highlord even though he still has more power than Orobas.
