The small fae pushed a stick across the water, the lily pad going on smoothly with each stretch of water. Over the small stream was a series of leaves and ferns, a few tree roots acting as a canopy and allowing spots of sun to gleam into the waters. The fae's ears perked up as she sniffed the air, looking back over head in front of the "boat". She stood up, trotting to the edge to look at the water. A small patch of tiny fish swam beneath the lily pad, the fae rushing to the other side to see them descend upstream. Her eyes widened in awe as she watched them wiggle to resist the current, walking back to the front of the boat to keep her eye out for any obstacles. She looked forward to a few stones in the way of the stream's flow, immediately gripping the side of the lily pad to stay on. The boat shifted to the sides as she jumped to put her weight on one end, barely avoiding a stone sticking out. She raced to the other end, hopefully not tipping over her means of transportation as she plopped onto her tail. She looked over the side of the boat, blinking as she gazed into the water, her wings folded on her back as she jumped onto the opposing side of the boat, avoiding another disaster.

The fae looked into the fading sky, which was now a shade of pink. The lavender clouds wandered aimlessly across the pale sky, floating over the sun to block it. The small cotton seeds of dandelions flowed through the air, falling gracefully onto the water to create a small ripple. The small dragon looked at a seed, grabbing it as it came into reach of the boat. She looked at the seed, then set it back gently onto the water, watching it drift far away as the current took it downwards. The fae looked at a satchel laying on the floor of the boat, picking it up carefully by the strap. She popped open the top, grabbing a scrolled up map. She closed the satchel, then sat down at the front of the lily pad, untying the ribbon on the map to open it up in front of the best light she could find. She ran a talon along the various marked areas of land. She narrowed her eyes slightly, lifting the map up to the sky to see it better, flopping onto her back in surprise, the map slowly falling onto her snout. She sat up, lifting the paper off her nose to look forwards downstream. She sprinted to her feet, shaking off her neck to remove the small drops of water which made their way into the boat. She grabbed the stick off the floor, putting it in the water to push the boat onwards. The leaves on it came out drenched in the water, dripping onto the floor of the lily pad.

She looked at her scroll, the stick's leaves dripping onto the map, producing an exclaimed squeak in anger. She rushed to the map, picking up quickly before a droplet could land on it. She frowned, twisting it to remove the water and setting it back into her talons to examine it further. She muttered to herself silently while her gaze glanced across the paper, landing on a small patch of thicket. The fae exclaimed in a rejoicing manner, standing up to her feet to pick up the stick once again. She put the map back in the satchel, swinging it to her side. She set the stick forward, pulling it back in a struggle to resist the current's strong push to resist the stick's movements backwards. A few minutes passed of pushing and pulling the oar until she reached a small entry along the stream's bank. Trees held back a way for her to step on land, but now, there was an opening of tree roots, as the other roots protected the banks carefully, denying entry for foreigners or travelers. She lifted the stick, then stabbing it in the muddy dirt along the stream in front of the entry. The fae opened her wings slightly, grabbing the satchel as she leaped onto the stick, crossing cautiously to the other side. She looked at the lily pad then back into the muddy woodlands to fold her wings once again, hopefully the last time it'll be required. She picked up her pace once in the dark, azure forest, inhaling confidently.
