Lightning flashed in the tense air as the storm continued to rage. Between loud roars of thunder, dragons and beasts alike shuddered and huddled close together, suddenly indifferent to the fact that they were so close. Amidst the huddled forms of wet and cold creatures, a small hatchling peeked his head over the shoulder of his brother and sisters and watched the storm unfold before him with awe.

Unlike the rest of his siblings, this young hatchling eagerly fought his way out of his squished position and crept past his mother and father. Carefully, he walked out of the cave and opened his mouth to taste the fresh and clean drops of rain. Thunder roared again, but he remained undeterred. Determinedly, he stepped more and more out of the shadow of the mountain and into the open grassland. His mother let out a yelp of surprise and terror, but it was too late.

Thunder roared and a bolt of lightning flashed. His siblings watched in horror as the bolt of lightning extended down and touched the young dragon. But instead of hearing the scream of pain they all expected, the young hatchling extended his talons upward and embraced the lightning. It's powerful energy crackled and a small bolt of lightning flashed beneath his wings. But it was controlled, as the small dragonet carefully contained it into a bubble of water, before sending it back into the sky. His mother breathed. "WaterWielder," her voice trembled in awe and fear. "His name is WaterWielder."
