"A leader serves her people, not the other way around."

Leadership is a position possessed by many, treasured by more, and used rightly by few. There were the leaders who use their power to enslaves those beneath them, and those who used it to claim the treasures of the world. Rarely was there a leader who cared -- greatly cared -- of those beneath them, and strove to protect them and care for them.

Born into a land of shadows, Athena saw that shadows thrived not only in the land, but also in the hearts of dragons. She saw unjust leaders ruling over poor clans with iron fists, caring only of their own pleasures and never of others. Her own parents had been taken before she was born. and her egg sold to a clan leader who wanted more warriors.

It was in this clan that Athena was trained and brought up. She agreed to the harsh training, for she needed to gain strength, but she did not relent to being a weapon. The clan leader could not get her to fight his battles, and when he tried to force her to, Athena simply flatten him on the spot and left the clan with her head held high. For she knew then that the leader was used to others doing his bidding, and had probably never raised a claw to fight before.

As she wandered across the desolated terrain, Athena ran into a Snapper dragon by the name of Shiva. Shiva, too, was from a clan who wanted to use him, and he'd ran away under the cover of an explosion. The two came together and founded a clan within the Shadow Flight, and though their clan dwelled in darkness, Athena made sure that their hearts thrived with light.

As the Queen of the clan, Athena is fierce and protective of those under her charge. She makes sure her clanmates have all they need to feel satisfied, and she selflessly cares for each and every one of them. Athena does not like being challenged for position, and makes her authority clear. Still, she isn't bossy and delegates jobs to others, giving them their own positions of authority. If someone knows better, she does not see a point in arguing.

Athena is above all wise and fair. She does not act on bias and she weighs every word carefully without speaking. Athena cannot tolerate any form of threat towards her clan, and she is not afraid to take more violent means into consideration. Thankfully, Athena is neither cold nor emotionless. She has her mate Anubis, and finds his muttered comments funny when others would shy away from such words. She is, after all, a Spiral dragon, and nothing can stop her from laughing when Anubis makes a joke or when Shiva's newest experiment blows up in his face.

A leader serves her people, not the other way around,
Keep your head high, but keep your eyes down,
down to your subjects, lives always profound.
Keep your beliefs routed in the ground,
Don't forget the kingdom you've found.

A leader the moment you wake,
Careful with words, make no mistakes,
For your reason and purpose is more than great,
Careful with the ones that decide they shall hate.

The past a reminder, look where you've been,
See gateways and spaces and horrible men,
Reminder of ways to never be,
Keep on your path, no looking back,
You shall never repeat there history.

Happiness usually comes at a cost,
But it seems nothing was lost,
And smiles go wide and there's shadows to hide,
And light that shines from within,
Here is your kingdom, and you're happy with them.
