Biography

OOZY
The Little Troublemaker
KI5PxVj.png
Best Friend: 29554423p.png
Nobody, not even Oozy, knows where Oozy came from. She herself decided to start the widely-spread rumor that she was grown out of a cauldron. The young Fae’s caretaker and best friend is Guzmania, the potion seller notorious for her sketchy ways and bad attitude. But somehow, some way, the two of them make the perfect pair.

Guzmania intended for Oozy to be her apprentice, but she came to the unfortunate realization that Oozy is just a little too stupid to manage. Oozy agrees wholeheartedly and has no hard feelings against her friend.

What no one has yet figured out is why Oozy never needs to eat, and why she, instead of sleeping, just slumps down into a seated position, her eyes never closing. Guzmania is, admittedly, a tiny bit terrified of her friend, but wouldn’t trade her for the world. She loves having this little troublemaker around. Despite Oozy’s shortcomings, she’s the ultimate prankster and deceiver. She delights in helping her pal cause borderline-illegal chaos.

---

Guzmania slunk between the stalls in the shady market. Dark-eyed salesmen glared out suspiciously from the shadows, keeping a watchful eye on each body that passed by. Rare artifacts glistened in the flickering lamplight, the smell of dangerous substances in small vials permeated the air, and quills scratched on parchment as souls were signed away.

Guzmania gasped, then grunted as she realized that the stall housing her favorite potion seller had been closed for the night. He never left this early... but going by the broken vials and papers scattered about, his exit was a hasty one. Damn. She didn’t look forward to finding a new plug.

She just turned her back when a loud voice rang out from behind the stall, startling her into nearly jumping out of her scales.

“HI. MY NAME IS OOZY.”

She whipped her head around and glared, hesitating when she realized who had made such a racket. A tiny Fae child was seated by the booth. Her lax posture and stretched out legs made it look like someone had plopped her down like a rag doll. Her eyes, her uncomfortably large, light blue eyes, stared right into Guzmania’s who felt the gaze shoot down her spine.

“Wh- what?”

“I’M OOZY.”

“Uh, okay, and? What do you want, kid?”

“I, UM...”

“And quit yelling!”

“OH, I- I, um, I justwantedtosayhi.”

Guzmania huffed at the strange little kid. “Leave me alone.” She began to walk away, until she heard a little “Um...” Her head snapped back. “WHAT?”

The little Fae’s body jerked dramatically, and Guzmania felt a rare pang of guilt. “... I like your scales.”

Now that was something new. Guzmania couldn’t remember the last time she met a new dragon who didn’t flinch when her dizzying hide caught the light. Now that she got a better look at Oozy, she realized that the Fae had quite a bold set of scales of her own.

“Where are your parents?”

“I dunno. I just sat here.”

Guzmania could write a book on how terrible of a parent she’d be, but even she knew how horrible it was that a hatchling had made its way down here. Oozy was in danger, and something inside of Guzmania came to life.

“Okay then. Do you know who your parents are?”

“Nope! I just sat here.” She coughed in the weird way that little kids do, maintaining perfect eye contact all the while.

The strange little feeling inside of Guzmania kicked in again, tenfold this time. “Alright, now you listen to me, you little squirt. My name’s Guzmania, and we’re gonna be buddies from now on.” She was no expert in deciphering Fae body language, but the way Oozy’s eyes widened, chest puffed up, and fans pointed upwards made her cold heart swell.

Coins and bottles rattled as Guzmania plopped her items and payment onto the rickety counter. The old Bogsneak started counting up the coins right away, but stopped when he saw a hatchling held against Guzmania’s side by one arm. She definitely didn’t have that on her when she came in.

“That’s- uh, that’s a child.”

“Yeah, and? I’m taking it.”

“...Here’s your change.”
