A kind of leech used in medicine PERSONALITY Verbana is a very prim and precise and polite and well-behaved dragon, but is also known to take no bad treatment from anyone. She learned this from Porcelain, her mother and one of the smallest faes in a clan known for it's large numbers of guardians and imperials. As clan Doctor, Porcelain has had to heal them all and has a patience and firmness second to none. Verbana has, for many years, considered her mother's manner to be deeply admirable. Generally Verbana is quiet and keeps to herself, with a love of books and quiet time spent with family. She can be a bit intimidating to strangers due to her size and haemophagic nature, but the only blood she drinks is from her father, largely because he created her without thinking of the consequences - and she wants him to think about the consequences. If not for her sake, at least for that of her siblings. ABOUT Second creation of Bilberrios - after Panoptes, and not accidental, in this instance - Verbana is the result of Bilberrios' continued attempts to create life from nothing, in this instance working from the capacity of cauldron-work to create Bogsneaks. However, Bilberrios believes that the use of Muck in creating Bogsneak eggs - distilled living essence of familiars, after all - makes it not exactly life from nothing, as it uses distilled life from other things. Thus, he created Verbana, using the base recipe for a Bogsneak egg but swapping out the Silver Muck for a mixture of other ingredients intended to do much the same thing. Well... Verbana certainly lives, but like all of Bilberrios' early creations there is something odd about her. Panoptes is a kind of formless life, able to alter his shape at will, and incredibly, vibrantly alive. Cenotaph, who followed Verbana, is firm of form but lacks energy, often taking both magical energy and personality from others. Verbana is vampiric, requiring blood to live. In her early years this was provided (with much complaining) by Bilberrios, and these days she is still fed largely by Bilberrios (still with much complaining). She's also definitively albinistic, and when she hasn't fed recently she burns easily in the sunlight, something which causes Panoptes to, as some of the clan have dubbed it, "eldritch out". Despite the age and maturity difference in the siblings, Panoptes adores its younger-bigger sister, and is most upset whenever she's hurt. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Verbana is one of very few able to calm them. Most of the time Verbana can be found in the clan library, helping her mother in the infirmary, or having tea with her siblings or her mother's tea companions. Verbana enjoys peace and quiet more than most things (aside, perhaps, from quietly antagonising Bilberrios) and has been known to be roped into research projects if she finds it interesting. Presently, she's most often found helping Archaeosaur, who always has something new for her to look into. RELATIONSHIPS
  Panoptes & Brea | Goop Siblings The two eldritch goop noodles Bilberrios created, both firstborn Panoptes and fourthborn Brea, adore their big sister. Panoptes is especially protective of Verbana and it's generally recognised that she's the only one who can (with her long claws and the fact Pan loves her) pry it off something when annoyed or upset. This has led to several interesting discoveries, such as the fact that Panoptes hates mirrors.    Cenotaph, Chalice & Fauna | Sisters Bilberrios' less goopy creations, Verbana loves her sisters - even troublesome Chalice - and spends a fair bit of time with them. While Chalice enjoys her potions and Fauna her gardening, Cenotaph struggles to be a person at all, and often spends time around Verbana, helping with research as she tries to identify who she actually is - if she's anything at all.

Porcelain is a very good adoptive mother; it was she who realised Verbana was a haemophage and required blood to survive. Of course, Porcelain does not have enough blood to sustain Verbana. Bilberrios on the other hand...
