About Paradox The chancellor of the Arcanite's Royal Institute of Magic. Despite her role as an authority in the islet and leading figure of all things magic, Paradox's magic is far from existing. On her early days, she aspired to become a great mage and waited eagerly for her magic to manifest. However, those aspirations were shattered when she was diagnosed with a rare condition that left her devoid of magic. In a flight where magic coursed through the veins of every dragon, her existence as a magicless dragon was devastating. Transferred to a school catering to magical ailments, she met Mira, a pearlcatcher whose magic would turn against her due to her condition. The pair quickly grew fond of each other and a deep bond was formed. During their last year of the school, Mira stumbled upon a tome dedicated to all sorts of magical conditions in the library. "Look at this, Paradox! Those dragons, they're just like us!" Mira beamed, knowing she wasn't alone in her condition, however, her happiness quickly gave way to a somber realization. "But... no one is helping them." Paradox, caressing the book's cover with a poignant expression, replied, "But someone will have to, eventually" "I could be that someone." Her voice carried a glimmer of determination.

About the Arcanite's Royal Institute of Magic: An institution where dragons research all things dragon magic, founded by Paradox herself. On its first days, the institute was dedicated exclusively to the research of magic related conditions and ailments, but with the success of its investigations, it eventually branched into different territories. Since the arrival of the usurper goddess, the institute has been working hard to find a way to characterize and contain the magical energy that has been flooding the ocean. "It's unlike anything we've seen before in any dragon. Magic whose power could rival that of a deity... It's terrifying to say the least." |
