A flirtatious bard, Calx is charming - and he knows it, and he knows how to get his own way using said charm. A shadow mage, the Skydancer uses shadow magic to entice and excite.

From a young age Calx showed a promise with shadow magic... often to the terror and confusion of his clan mates. The dragon forever getting himself in trouble, it was soon that the clan decided to put the magic to good use and so the dragon was trained as a fighter... something that grew very old and tiresome after a time. He enjoyed the thrill of battle, sometimes too much but there was so much more to shadow magic than to simply destroy.

It was then he decided, it was time to go. The mage wanted to show the world the wonders of shadow magic, and the mage that weaved it... for it was simply a crime that he was hidden away in the tangled woods.

It was not an easy choice, deep down. It meant leaving his sister behind, his twin, even if the two could not be more polar opposites. She was the quieter one of the pair, often patching up the wounds of the mage; being the only one he would allow close when in pain. He tried to encourage her to come too, see the world but her lack of confidence, and the safety that normality brought, kept her there. He wrote to her often about his adventures... often leaving out some details.

Enjoying the hustle and bustle of the cities for a time, the mage earnt coin through his performances. Both by generous onlookers... and often by other means, the thrill of adrenaline and sense of rewards turning the mage to a thief and pickpocket. Often found entertaining at a shady tavern, the shadow magic seeping through the walls and working as a distraction while he simply took his pickings.

Upon returning to his birth clan one evening, he found nothing but waste. His sister gone; the one he had came into this world with, gone. The idea of her being frightened and crying for him in her last moment still haunts him. The mage was beside himself with grieve and blame that if he had been around, he could have stopped whatever had caused this.

He knew he had to change and adopt his magic so it would not grow stale. The world was so full of magic, each stronger than the last and each with its own beauty. That's how he ended up at the opening to the ice cavern, following the stars till he found a new settlement. He never meant to stay; it was meant to be a rest stop - he was not meant to get attached. On the day Calx arrived to the tiny clan, sitting by the fire safe and warm; a form of a young skydancer came crawling in. Injured and bleeding from gashes at her hindlegs, sent on a task far too great for her small structure - only barely not a hatchling. He was no healer, he was unable to patch up her wounds properly, that had always been his sister's job, but he stayed at this dragon's side. The two gaining a close bond, the ice dragoness' shy nature a bittersweet reminder of the sister he had lost. When the youngest dragon of the clan announced he wanted to be a healer and help others, that bittersweet feeling returned but with a sense of pride.
While he often travelled, he always returned. Watching the clan grow and slowly form something more than just a mismatch of dragons in a cave.

The mage often finding himself in self-caused trouble, one evening the carefree and smug nature of the dragon lead to a situation he was unable to pull himself out of... only surviving thanks to, someone else having been the one to pull him to safety. Determined in his task of not allowing Calx to break his promise to always return to the tiny clan, the Mirror stuck at his side though what was possibly the worst state the dragon had ever found himself in. They were not a pair that most would suspect, but for some reason they worked.
Heartbroken when the two eventually had to part ways, Calx decided that for a time he would stay put at the clan. Boi had his own life to return to, and so for a time the two parted. As a parting gift, Calx bestowed the other with one of his feathers, so a piece of him would always be there with the traveller. Boi left the vest he gave to Calx over their journey, a comfort to the mage on the coldest nights, even when the scent of the cowboy vanished from the material. The normally flirtatious and cocky mage often found himself reduced to a blushing mess with the cowboy, unused to opening his feelings and affections to one he cared about. Still, he found himself smiling and laughing more. Boi had brought him home, and reminded him of the joy and purpose he had in the others of the tiny clan. Calx held an odd position, not having a set role but always playing a part; often close to Demetria, watching her take charge and even occasionally offering good advice.

Boi always wrote, sending memories both written and physical of his travels, and in turn Calx wrote back. It was hard to hide his excitement whenever Demetria brought a letter home from the crossroads, he often took himself away to read in peace and allow his emotions out freely without worrying that the others would see him. Joyous and terrible, each letter brought both.

He often watches the horizon for the figure of the other, Boi kept his own promise of returning when he could and Calx would make sure he was there to greet him. Running through the snow and wind to return back to his arms.

"-You're my reason, and my only reason, Calx."
