Umbra

a shadow in the underbrush, with his father's transience and his mother's playful nature.

(his thoughts are known to wander far beyond the confines of the deepwoods.)



the children of eurydice and ophanim are almost known for their independence; almost all of them leave the shades of the deepwoods to stake their claim on the world. umbra is one of the rare exceptions. as a hatchling, he took to the dark underbrush like a duck to water, playfully stalking his mother as she roamed the forest or sneaking up on unsuspecting residents to surprise them with a loud warble when they least expected it. as he grew, his personality remained mostly the same, though it did level out a bit. he still enjoys sneaking around, and is still good-natured and friendly, though he intentionally startles other dragons less than he did as a child. (unintentionally, however... he still thinks it's funny.)

despite his contentment with his home, umbra often thinks of the siblings that have left the deepwoods, and misses them dearly. his older siblings and younger hatchmate - all off to serve their chosen cause - tend to be beyond his reach, though his hatchmate does occasionally send him letters from the lightweaver's domain. however, there is one sibling who remains in the clan, who umbra occasionally sneaks out of the deepwoods to visit; his lonely, sickly little brother, who spends his days on the shoreline.
