Biography
|
LIKE ALL good mercenary companies, the Wirerile Shepherds have many diverse sources of income and specialities. Like their parent company, Cachinno, the Shepherds offer protection services -- though their clients are exclusively merchants operating in the Biskbrill area, unlike Cachinno's more above-board clientele. The Shepherds are considered the cream of the crop in Biskbrill -- a necessity, even, according to some. And to be sure, their record speaks for itself. To a certain extent. Much of that image, though, is carefully crafted. Designed, even. Rivera, though not officially a member of the Shepherds, nonetheless makes a significant proportion of her income off Shepherd coin. Occasionally, when clients start getting too big for their britches, or business slows a bit too much, the Shepherds pay Rivera extra to come bid low on security contracts from mercantile companies, undercut the Shepherds, win the contract, and take the job. Then she makes sure that the goods never make it where they're supposed to, and maybe loses a few merchants along the way. It's good money, being professionally bad at something. In private, the Shepherds have nothing but praise for her work -- if not for how lucrative this side-hustle was, Rivera'd surely be a full-fledged member of the company by now. To some, it may seem low work, or little more than begging for table scraps, but to Rivera, there is immense satisfaction in a job well sabotaged. | xxxxxxxxxx |
IMPRESSIONS
Grim and serious in expression, often characterised by gruff, monosyllabic speech and a propensity for never smiling. Broad-shouldered and sturdy, tall for a tundra; despite the chill demeanour, she instills a certain confidence in those around her. Rumour has it she takes a little too much pride in disappearing folks out there in the Wasteland.

RELATIONSHIPS
VICISSIA has never spoken to her. Not a word. Still, Rivera is keenly aware that the apex predator of Biskbrill doesn't like her, maybe even hates her, and that only her tenuously stable connection the Shepherds keeps Vicissia from extinguishing her outright.SHERBROOKE looks uncomfortable whenever Rivera swings by for -- any reason, really, though she always keeps it professional, whatever that reason may be. Oh, he's as charming at her as he is at anyone else, but it's easy enough to tell when he's faking it. Still, her coin spends just as good, so he makes an effort to keep their relationship functional. |
