ANYONE who has ever crossed through the Flat or its surrounding areas unimpeded by fences has Vanadio to thank. For local livestock owners she can be something of a nightmare, but to those who prefer to roam free through Rachidian without running into a dragonmade barrier, she's purely a local legend. Vanadio's a proponent of the free Wasteland, a notion that no part of the Wasteland should ever be separated from itself -- no matter how temporarily that may be. Naturally, fences present a problem for this notion. While fellow proponents stuck to litigating the matter with the powers that be, Vanadio correctly assessed that she's not made for ten-treasure-words and dithering about with lawbooks. She's a dragon of action. She left the ink pens to her cleverer allies and picked up a fence cutter instead. Of course, cutting wire and tearing down fenceposts is difficult and unpopular work. Vanadio quickly found herself in trouble with the law, though she took any admonishment from the sheriff as more of a friendly suggestion. She moved to Biskbrill and officially claims it as her birthplace -- and, given the legally vague nature of Biskbrill, that makes it harder for the otherwise long arm of Rachidian's law to reach her. Whenever she does run into difficulty, she always manages to get herself out of it. That massive bear she pals around with probably helps. | xxxxxxxxxx |

IMPRESSIONS
Lanky and rangy, the look of a chronically underfed child who had to grow up fast and with great difficulty. Though slow to speech, there is a keenness of eye, a permanent evaluating look, that belies a deeper intellect than she prefers to let on. In close quarters, with only few around, she's given to spinning long, captivating yarns. |
RELATIONSHIPS
BROADSIDE is named for the barn of yore and also because, despite being fired upon more than once in Vanadio's career, no bullet has ever so much as grazed Broadside's, er, broad side. The bear is clearly not from 'round here; Vanadio claims she found it as a cub, possibly tumbled off some careless trader's wagon. Broadside is an intimidating figure to all but Vanadio, to whom its disposition more closely resembles that of a doting puppy. Broadside thinks it's a lap-bear. |
