57349482p.png 		Every story has a beginning, and this universe is no different. Once, a long time ago, there was a Beginning, unknown to all but one being who bore witness–or perhaps she was the beginning. Regardless, there was a Beginning, and from there, came light. Stars formed specks in the night sky, bringing warmth and heat for life to follow.

Long ago, even before our Universe, a Universe exploded into being, bringing with it something strange. Not Life, no, She was not made of organic matter, did not have cells or require sustenance. Rather, She had a consciousness, an awareness, and knew that She was unique. She came into being surrounded by the dark of the Void and the gold glow of the young stars, and She felt at ease.

It wasn't long until others also came into Being. Like Her, they were not quite alive, but they had a consciousness, formed by aspects of their home.

In the beginning, She did her best. They were considered her siblings, sharing a home and a past.

Then, time moved on and the Universe Died, taking her siblings with it.

The next time, the pain of Her loss was too much, and She kept them away as long as She could, until their loneliness overwhelmed Her own grief. She greeted them, let them get close, knowing that She will lose them again.

Knowing did not make it any easier.

Time went on without considering Her own feelings. She would watch the others come into being and then be taken from Her again. It was easier to keep them away, to say hello once and let them go.
Still, She would get lonely sometimes, trying to stay away. She was helpless against the End, forced to watch, again and again and again and again–

One of her siblings is like Her, meant to watch. She doesn't mind being with him, if only because he is just as helpless. He will be taken from Her eventually, they all will, but She enjoys the shared Purpose. She keeps him close, knowing that he won't leave if She makes him feel loved–and he is loved. She loves him, and loves not being alone, and loves knowing that he will not leave Her until the End.

When the End comes, She closes her eyes and pretends that She cannot see his fear. Any reassuring words die on her tongue. There is nothing to say. The End is inevitable.

She closes her eyes–
And it Begins again.
