 Harbinger Callous • Cruel • Infected «- - - - - - - - - - - - - ❖ - - - - - - - - - - - - -» He wasn't worthy of a real name. The moment his mother looked upon his distorted face the words were already leaving her lips. "Harbinger." He hadn't even known the meaning of the accursed word but whether he knew it or not it was his name now decreed by the very dragon who'd gifted him life. He had little say in the matter nor could he know at that moment in time how right she was. How much he truly wants a harbinger of dark destruction. His first few days were uneventful spent undergoing the same trials as every freshly born hatchling. Learning to walk, followed by learning to speak, followed by learning to fly, though flying did not come naturally to him. Right off the bat it was clear he was physically weaker then any of his littermates often tripping and losing balance for seemingly no reason at all. His wings suffered from the same fate struggling to do much more then lift Harbinger's frail body off the ground. While his siblings were learning to fly and walk and make friends Harbinger was forced to stay on the ground, away from it all watching with multiple eyes that tinted the world in a permanent shade of green. Then the tremors started. At first he was just cold. Cold always. If his wings could not fly the least they could do was keep him warm. The cold led to shaking, shaking so hard as to feel uncomfortable, like ants were crawling in the seams beneath his scales. Once the fever hit his father brought him to a healer to be examined but no matter what they did his symptoms only seemed to grow worse and worse. They thought he was going to die. They were wrong. Though within himself existed wonder whether anyone truly cared if he lived or died. No matter how bad the sickness, no matter how bad the wound he always seemed to survive on sheer luck as if something or someone was pulling the strings, forbidding him to die until he's served his purpose. Now a dragon grown he has wandered far away from mother and father, from the siblings who would never know better. Body still weak and crawling with sickness he wanders the land in search of shelter, only to destroy the kind dragons who were follish enough to oblige with his medicinal knowledge when they were least wary. If he must suffer he deign to drag the world down with him.
