It was just going to be a normal day, out in the forest, scavenging for herbs for his work, hunting game for the neighbors nearby, and maybe some bugs as a little treat for the kids. However, when Sire took he and his family hunting, they witness pairs of glowing, beady eyes, staring at them from the darkness of the forest. The horror and terror from that moment couldn't be recalled. It couldn't. But, what he saw clearly was a certain foe. One he witnessed weeks ago. Sire was once a dragon who would cure others of what ails them, and was a herbalist at heart. He was from the border between the Ashfall Waste and the Shifting Expanse, a dreary place filled with smoke and ash, rolling sands, and stormy skies ahead. Though it was his home, he couldn't bear with the place anymore. So, he started to fly. He was flying through the sky, till, he found the Sunbeam Ruins, and landed himself near the coast, where, he met his mate, Lady. She was the love of his life, and they had many hatchlings, their den growing bigger and bigger, but even so, it was a family where though they had to watch many dragons fly from the nest, they were proud to see how their children become. He used his skills to help all which ailed the nearby dragons, and he was quite well loved. However, learning about the battle brewing, he flew away from his den for the time being to try and help and heal those who were wounded from battle. He never expected, however, to witness an Emperor to erupt from the pile of bodies, and started to terrorize the surroundings. Sire was terrified, so much so, that he couldn't move, but at the time, many dragons helped ward off the threat, it wasn't that much of an issue at the time. It was strange, however, that they seemed to avoid him at the time. Even now, that same Emperor was avoiding him, as he witness what happened to his family in the forest, as he could only watch, terrified as he remembered that horrible day. He couldn't get his nerves, even as the Emperor slashed upon his back and injuring his body, causing it to no longer be able to feel his body. That was when his daughter found him, the only one who stayed home due to her illness, a few days later in worry as she looked at the carnage around her. She was crying, trying to find out who survived, but to her horror, she realized the truth: only Sire survived the attack. She was able to make the current gear she had now, to make an outfit that can give him some ability to move, but Sire was never the same since. He was moving about robotically, looking at the forest at night, unable to take his eyes away from cats and became as still as a statue from the fear alone. His daughter could only watch as her father was starting to wither away... |
