Is it lonely at the top?
Hatchery lore:
King lizard. Apex predator. A Megalania.
Hatchery lore:
A giant crocodilian slithers up to you, scales shifting, tail coiling. She grins dangerously and foul smelling drool slides out of her maw. It drips steadily onto the ground, too close for comfort.
“You are on my island.”
Her tail loops lightly around your ankle.
“I hope you like gifts, it would be unbefitting to refuse a king.”
She pins you with a sharp glance and suddenly snaps her powerful jaws. Strings of saliva fly off through to the force. Some lands on the underbrush which starts sizzling. When she grins again, more teeth are showing.
“Many know me as Komodon, but my true name is Orah. I rule these islands and the surrounding seas. I am of the old world as is my kingdom, bigger, faster and stronger than you ever hope to be. You cannot survive in this world. Yet, you are here.”
Her head cocks curiously to the side.
“Do you wish to die? I assume not. Visiting then, perhaps. There are conditions to leaving though.”
You turn to keep her in your line of sight when she starts circling you.
“I have a collection of interesting creatures, some with colors so rare you can’t name them. My Megafauna. Bugs in all shapes and forms, elegant, slimy, prickly, or glittering like the sun on water. I have Jurassics, sentient cave jewels, cognitive fungi, and monsters of all kinds.
Take your pick. One.”
She pauses and eyes you.
“Or more if you dare.”
