hailing from a large tribe in the rural areas of neran, ceryn was brought up for one purpose: to murder the crown and seize control of the kingdom. the old tribe of crows was comprised of vagrants from the northern kingdom, bitter that the crown has done nothing for their plight. he grew up in famine and sickness, his vibrant colors stripped away from him by countless bouts of illness and malnourishment. the old crows may have been kind enough to him, but time certainly was not. the moment ceryn could leave the nest, he did. he set out at once to the crown, fully determined to end his tribe's suffering.
he burst through the palace gates in a frenzy, claws red with blood as he found his first victim. a beautiful and frail skydancer, basking in the middle of the room, her limp feathers spread around her as if she were the sun. her disdainful eyes caught him in their gaze, and she sighed. "you may do with him what you want, sigmuund." and with that she vanished, and an elegant blood-red wildclaw took her place, his head bowed. in a heartbeat ceryn lunged for the wildclaw's exposed neck. in a heartbeat his vision went blurry, and he felt a sharp pain in the side of his head.
"i dont want to hurt you," a soft voice whispered. then, ceryns world turned black.
