In Japanese folklore, a Shinigami is a god of death. This Shinigami, however, is no such thing. She's a regular dragon, albeit a mentally handicapped one. She tends to stick to herself, killing small reptiles and insects in her free time. She hasn't talked once since arriving, and nobody seems interested in making her do so. The clan members (Qri in particular) just want to make sure she's healthy and well cared for. The bandages she wears are for the wounds she sustained in the Wasteland prior to her making her way here, and she refuses to take them off, even though Mairwen practically begged her to let her treat her.

The only dragon she's known to dislike is Samhain, because he constantly annoys her, trying to get her to speak. Even her evilest, dirtiest, most soul-crushingest glares aren't enough to drive him away. The one dragon she is fond of is Amaranth, who made her the crown she currently wears. He can be found watching over her sometimes, making sure she stays safe and content. Unfortunately, he doesn't watch her enough to help get rid of Samhain.
